Default *HD VIDEO* 2002 SS-12.48 @ 114 mph @ Autoclub Dragway - Fontana CA

Another local track day here in Southern California.

Got 3 passes in by 12PM, had to leave for work.

Pass-----60ft------1/8ET-----1/8MPH-------1/4ET-------1/4MPH
1--------2.106------8.404----89.52---------12.72-------114.13
2--------1.996------8.209----90.00---------12.51-------114.33
3--------1.959------8.159----89.72---------12.48-------113.75

Car setup:

2002 SS
Stock LS1 bottom end with mild h/c setup - 430/407 at the wheels
LS7 clutch, rebuilt t56, 10 bolt with 3.42, Nitto NT05 street radials 315/35/17
Race weight approx 3640 with me in it.

Launching 4-4500 rpm, going easy on the clutch
Tires 19-20 psi
Shifting ~6200-6300 RPM

#1 Yes I need more practice launching the car.
#2 Yes I need more practice shifting the car.
#3 Yes the car should be trapping higher mph with 430 at the wheels.
I am hoping the 9 inch/3.90 gears will help with the mph, as the rpm is falling
out of the 'sweet spot' between shifts... hopefully the gears will prevent the rpm from dropping so far.

What can you do, it is what it is and I am having a lot of fun with the car.

Here's the video... enjoy:

Why are you not shifting out around 6700? That alone would help to keep you from falling out in between gears and allow you to pick up 2+ mph. No reason you shouldn't be trapping 116-118 mph.

Nice work on launching with the glass jaw and keeping it intact.

Edit - Based off of the graph you posted in your last thread, 6700 would definitely be ideal. Forgot all about that thread, sorry.
