Hang on so you are trying to tell me that a smaller 5.0 liter that made 507hp is not impressive and then showing me a link of a 6.1 liter engine that only made 518hp which is only a difference of 11 hp? Do you see where I'm going here.
You dont have to like ford at all but damn some people have a hard time admitting when another car rival makes an engine that is impressive. Keep in mind like WSsick said this is the very FIRST one

So to say its impressive bang for buck to spin a motor 7500rpm on a dohc 5.0L that you sunk around 10K on! I would have to say NO! The LS3 is far superior in modding wether its N/A or Boost. Thats always been the advantage to building a Chevrolet no matter if its a BBC, SBC, or LSx. They make alot of power Cheaper than the competition.

Ive got a little under 10K in my engine setup as well and the heads have NEVER BEEN OFF!
I'd be GLAD to meet up with a Head/Cam 5.0L with my extra 23peak whp and extra 100RWTQ Min. any where above 2600rpm
do some research before you look @ peak numbers. Nice Try tho

Im interested to see what the Challenger 392 can make with similar mods. GM/Camaro has their hands full thats for sure, but strong competition usually leads to good things

Hey PAL! Im making 500rwtq @ 2900rpm! So it treats me fine BUD! And im using the same size blower as the stock 03/04 Cobras!! so when you see one of those making 530+RWHP without the steigmeir port job let me know!

I know how to read dyno numbers, i've been around here too long not to know that sort of info, but that fact remains that the car made good power N/A with such a small motor. It is an acheivement anyway you look at it, also where did the $10k figure come from? Can someone post the build link?
Furthermore, if you put a N/A 500hp 2011 mustang against a N/A 500hp LS3 Camaro, wouldn't the extra bulk (200lbs) on the Camaro level the playing field given the mustangs lack of tq?

That your bigger cubic inch engine only made 11hp more with the exact same modifications but yet you say the 5.0 isnt impressive.

We are talking about n/a v8 engines not a turbo 4-cyl. There is probably about 5k dollars in modifications with that new mustang... ~2k in heads, ~1,500 cams, ~1k in exhaust, and ~600 for the intake. It is a little more expensive to mod but it is also a brand new engine therefore parts are more expensive as well.
I know there are GM fan boys that hate anything but GM but I can't believe people are so blind and consider it to not be impressive.
You have a PD supercharger, and in case you dont know that they make hellacious torque at low pm's and on top of that its a pushrod... Name one single time when you are racing that your car see's 2900rpm? It doesn't
the blower you have on there is aftermarket and flows much more efficiently than a stock 03/04 cobra unit and I have seen ported eatons make 560 and one that made 580 without any internal engine work but let me guess you still arent impressed.

I agree but some people will always be that way, you cant fix stupid but you can sure try.
We will all have differences in opinions about certain cars and that's completely fine but let's keep this civil and a good conversation and not calling out people etc. Its nice to have a civil debate sometimes

It is impressive that it made this much power on 5.0L But are you impressed that EVO's make more power with a Turbo kit and cams on a 4-cylr???? The point is you made 507hp @ the cost of what?? $10K!!! The LS2 6.0L could make the same if not MORE N/A for less $$$ and have a wayy better torque curve only spinning to 6600rpm!

Actually the blower i have is the SAME CASE as the Cobra. M112 = Magnuson 112!!! Should we see what the LS3 Camaro does with the same 2300 sized head unit as the 5.0L??!?!?
Lets compare apples to apples as close as we can here. Yours might be Green apples while mine are Red but its the closest thing we can get for BENCH RACING!!!
And yes I know how much Torque a PD blower makes i HAVE ONE! DO U??? My point at making 500rwtq @ 2900rpm is my blower makes my Torque curve flat as the FLOOR!! My peak torque is @ 4700rpm ALL 529.8ft/lbs of IT! Do you know what moves weight?? TORQUE!!
As for the 03/04 Steig ported Cobras! POST EM UP!!! NO N2O tho just boost!! BTW im on about 9lbs @ 4600rpm and around 7.6lbs at 6600rpm.

And when I say ~1k for exhaust i mean the header back and the way cams are for our cars are usually sold in a package deal however with the car being new im not sure the exact price on those just speculating from our 4v cars, and Im not sure what all is needed with the TiVCT

This is saying a lot. My 02 Z06 with H/C/I made 480rwhp...with a forged 347.
Nobody can knock these numbers on this mustang.
I still know my old Z06 would beat it down the track though

Its impressive numbers and I think there are good things to come from the new engine. I am not impressed with with curve, 310hp and 310 trq at 4000 rpm is not impressive. When the mustang guys figure this stuff out its going to be much more competitive.
For now, its a nice start.
