Default My ls1 mustang

Yea its been done a million times i know but for my first actual project car that was built from the ground up. Id say it turned out pretty good. If you care to look it up I post my build thread here too, in the hybrid section.

Some of you have seen my build thread on here. Its finally on the road and has about 500 miles on her. I took it to get tuned last week but i need bigger injectors. It running out of fuel at 5k rpms. Im getting a set of 42lbers. Any guess' as to what I'll be putting down after the injector swap?

My current numbers on a dynapack are 313hp/320tq to the wheels. Thats through an auto trans 4.10 gears and a 3200 stall so these numbers are low when comparing my setup to a manual with lower gears. Overall im happy since the car is so light. But im not happy enough. As the wife said to me today "youre finished but i know youre never really going to be finished with this car" LOL Shes right, I already have a new intake/throttle body and head swap getting planned.

Finally got some decent pics. The wife is learning to use her D3000 and I just did a little bit of editing. Neither of us are good a picture taking and she offset some pics on accident. But this is about the car so whatever.

Heres a list of mods for anyone wondering:

Followed much of your build and love it. I dont see how your running out of fuel with the mods you have though. Now thats it "done"(we all know it never ends) is there anything you would have done differently

Im not sure on the fuel part either. Ive seen mixed results from people using the stocker injectors with similiar setups. Even some local guys told me they didnt need new injectors until around 450hp. I may be seeing 400bhp once its tuned correctly, maybe. So I dont know if I just have crappy injectors or what. My tuner has done a lot of local guys with decent number and very nice setups so I dont question his ability. Looking at TSP's site though they did rate the 28lb injectors at around 380hp i think, so maybe i need to ask Frost or someone? Also if the new injectors dont push enough fuel then for sure its my fuel pump but its brand new so......

Anyways, yes I would do a few things differently lol. I would have bought a trashed transmission since I ended up getting mine rebuilt anyways. Maybe used that saving for a set of 243 heads. I also would have bought a 31 spline diff and axle shafts instead of staying with the stock 28. Not much I would do diffrerent but im sure Ill think of a few more things later.

I think your 28s will be fine persomally, will they be over 80% duty cycle yes, but youll be ok. Im at the point where I dont know whether to throw a set of 243s on the motor or not while its out. I've told myself over and over to get it running first then spend the extra, so i dont know what to do haha.

Well the tuner showed me the graphs when he first tuned the car. The cycle duty was over 100% at 5k. I did some more looking around last night on here and it seems my issue isnt uncommon. So I wont sweat it unless the injectors dont fix it for some reason. On the 243's, I was in the same dilema but stuck with the 241s for now. If you can get a set of 243's cheap and sell your heads I say go for it. If not I'd wait and save up for some better heds once the car is running.

No videos yet but once the car is properly tuned Ill have some. I have had one guy walk up to my car and ask what motor I had. He knew it wasnt a 5.0 from the sound of the exhaust was way too bad *** lol.
