This whole thread is full of fail. I prefer autos, I always will. Especially having a GTO now, I hated how they felt with sticks.

AND just because we are on LS1Tech I will say this, don't like my car? tell me all about yours I'll sit next to anycar on here half of them are pieces of **** and run 12.50s with full bolt ons and everyone who is sub 12.50s is on another forum because honestly there are to many "I know it all I have built a million of these cars" kids on here.
Maybe some people don't care for E/Ts? Maybe some people enjoy their cars on the street? Maybe some people don't dig race? The main reason why i could careless for it is because of my rear. My personal opinion is i prefer my M6 over an auto just because i have a driver mod and its alot more fun. You must be at the track alot? or dig race all the time?

At the end who gives a ****? its all preference.

Are you not comprehending this?

My car is more fun TO ME BECAUSE IT IS AN AUTO. My car wouldn't be as fun to me if it was a manual. I have owned 6 speed ls1s, I didn't enjoy anywhere near as much.
I dig race, I roll race, and I go to the track. I enjoy all of them... I probably roll race more than anything cause most people bitch because of how nasty my car is from a dig, BECAUSE IT IS A STALLED AUTO. You can't get most to go to the track.

So my car gets more roll racing than anthing and I wouldn't have a manual over it for anything. IT IS ALL PREFERENCE.

One thing that isn't... Stalled autos rape in racing.

This is so dumb.

Cool.

Edit: Um oh yeah, stating MY personal preference and then saying at the end "who gives a ****, its all preference?" Is a huge contradiction. Nice one.

How about my old car? It would fish tail at 40-50mph and still kick out from 55-60. How many people do you think could have half *** launched that car from anything under 20mph?

It is fine if you like manuals more, it is all opinion. But you were being a tard in the first post.
IMO manual blow dick.. They are fun to drive every once in a while but thats where it ends for me. I like having stupid 60's, pulling the tires, being consistent, not asking for a rematch cause I missed a gear, etc etc... I also think a large stalled auto is way more fun than a manual.
All opinion... Fact? As far as racing goes, autos bitch slap manuals.
I love how butthurt auto guys get on LS1tech...
Some people prefer REAL racing, you know racing that isn't just in a strait line.
Built, stalled, tuned auto's are competitive in a strait line from a dig. From a roll, and on a real track (one with turns) there is no comparison...
Yes Ive driven/been in 400+RWHP stalled autos, total snore fest compared to a manual. Still never shifts when you want (up or down), and still just stab the throttle and hang on, quick off the line sure, but thats it.

What the **** are you even trying to prove? I stated MY personal preference and then stated "who gives a ****? its all personal preference anyways". Apparently that is to much for your mind to handle. So by you stating that an auto is your preference and stating

Built, stalled, tuned auto's are competitive in a strait line from a dig. and this is a site where 99 percent of us do this type of racing, also known as DRAG racing. From a roll, or a dig and on a real 1/4 mile track (one with a tree) there is no comparison...autos destroy manuals.
Yes Ive driven/been in 400+RWHP stalled autos, total awesome fest compared to a manual. shifts smooth when you want (up or down), and still stab the throttle and hang on, never miss a shift, quick off the line and make the **** talking manual guy look like an *** while you put bus lengths on him. thats it.

there i fixed it for you. look at you you finally get it! congrats.

Butt hurt? LOL

The amount of people that prefer turning is so small compared to the guys on here that like straight line, you know this.

Stock, manual trumps in rolls... Once the modding begins that gap is drastically reduced. Simply put you better be one nasty driving if you want to handle a similarly modded auto.
Ever seen a turbo auto and a turbo manual run from a roll that make similar numbers with similar setups?
Manuals don't stay in boost when you want them to. LOL

Auto is a snore fest for you, manuals are a pain in my *** for me. LOL

I rest my case, another one butthurt.
Circle tracks are lame, im talking road course/autox.
And no the auto's don't shift smooth (when modded). If you have trouble missing gears then you need driving lessons.

I don't see your point.
If you want to say something like Auto>manual, you need to be specific (like for drag only). Its like saying slicks/skinnies>street tires. Yeah, for drag only and nothing else.

Agreed, and the manual (from my experience) still has a significant edge. For example my buddies mid 11 second (stalled auto) SS couldn't pull from my (at the time) bolt on only 6 speed car from a roll. Same result with a handful of other cars all more modded than me, and the ones equally modded get a few cars put on them.

Simply put you better be one nasty driving if you want to handle a similarly modded auto.
I have to disagree here. Just shift the gears. The biggest mistake I always see with M6 guys is they start in a gear too high.

Depends more on the setup.

Auto is a snore fest for you, manuals are a pain in my *** for me. LOL
Im sorry I just don't get this. Its like saying that driving is just too hard, don't know when to hit the brake or the gas, I want a car to drive itself. I personally want as much control as I can get.

This is why the huge turbo Supra's are staying auto more and more. People were swapping autos for manuals like crazy up until recently. Then they saw how these Lexus(Aristo) 2jz's were running so strongly and everybody was like HEY there's something to this not loosing boost stuff. Now the low stall huge turbo cars are complete dogs on the drag strip. They are easier to brake boost, never miss a shift and hold boost through the whole run.

The only form of racing I see manuals having the upper hand is circuit and rally racing (and drifting because they need the clutch kick to initiate drifts). However, the whole missing a gear and consistency thing has been eliminated now days with the use of manually selected sequential transmissions. While technically still a manual the clutch is automated.

For tiny little corner carvers that are road cars to me they are most fun manual. This of course is if you LIKE changing gears.

There is NO arguing the fact that driver error and the fact that the way clutch is just an on and off action, make them less than desirable for drag racing. The reduction in shock with the way a torque converter works makes them find traction easier.

You have experts like Mad Man cutting CRAZY 60 foot times on DR's. Where in my opinion manual cars if they are trying for a really good ET should skip straight to a slick.

I LOOOVE autox and will do it one day when I have the funds to afford a c5Z as a toy, with a manual to boot of course.

ANYTHING else, auto wins by a long shot with me for many reasons.. Roll racing, dig racing, track, street, normal driving, spirited weekend driving, etc etc etc...
