I wonder how long before someone points out the difference in the curve, though I certainly wouldn't be pushing my $1.something Million car to the limits on the track. Damage to that would probably be worth more than the combined new value of all the cars at the track.

For reference the P1 makes about 250 more horsepower and weighs about 300 lbs less. That car rolls the **** out. Someone owns one about 20 minutes from where I live. He also has an MP4-12C that I've raced (hpde) alongside.

P1 is a ******* beast. Z06 driver had better lines and braking but once it got to the straights it didn't matter at all, lol.

The Z06 is a great ride, but that is the difference between a sports car and a super car right there.

I think they're calling these multi million dollar hybrids "hypercars" now since they're so much faster and more expensive than the usual supercars. Either way, definitely an eye opening comparison... That thing makes the C7Z look slow.

No, it's because people are morons when it comes to terminology. Now a Camry is a sportscar, a C7 is a supercar, a C7 Z06 is an ultracar, etc. Everything is a damn supercar nowadays.

yeah i think the terminology is all relative to the times. a few years back even what we would call hyper cars did not match the performance of a base c7 sting ray now. look at this vid of a c7 sting ray on top gear's track. Under 1:20 used to cost at least 300K. Cars like the new baby lambo do it in 1:15 now.

Lots of downforce= lots of drag. There's a reason supercars have the adjustable spoilers and flaps that deploy with braking rather than using static/conventional methods of generating downforce.

To me 100 mph plus wasn't moving all that great. But prolly was heat soaked ?

yeah the engineers definitely chose down force over straight line speed. Its faster on the straights with all the down force removed, but still does not accelerate like it has the power it claims, then its a much bigger handful during the turns on the track . So it gets spanked in a straight line and on a lap by 1.5 secs by a nissan car that weighs 300lbs more and has 50 less hp even though the zo6 has better lateral grip and braking. Motor trend said they expected more , but the zo6 just didnt deliver
