Default My '03 Cobra - Nitrous pic

I'm doing a little work to the old nitrous kit...changed nozzle & solenoid locations and what not. I thought I'd share a pic...

The car is filthy. Sorry.

Is it really not that big of deal as far as the nozzle location goes? When I had mine installed...the installer basically measured out the precise "inches" from the throttle body and stuck it their. Being that my car was N/A with the nitrous it may need to be a certain length away. Yours being blown with a n20 kicker...maybe not so much. Oh well, either way. Good times!

I thought about the distance before the TB when I installed it. I'm thinking the plenum is plenty long before it hits the blower. I haven't sprayed it yet, but I don't think it'll be a problem. We'll see!

One more thing on that note...many others actually drill into the plenum and mount the nozzle after the TB so I should be ok.

Damn why would you want more power in that Cobra. How much rwhp are you going to be pushing with the spray.

What happened to that little cover over the pulley and belt? and does it really serve any purpose at all?

My views on power are really screwed up since 700 - 2000+rwhp cars are seen and discussed daily. Everything else is slow.

I'm not sure how much power it's going to make. I'm really not that concerned about it. Too many '03 Cobras dyno huge numbers and run high 11's. My goal is to run a good number, not be a dyno queen. I will strap in on the rollers though just to make sure the A/F is safe on the spray. I'll post the numbers.

#41- The pulley cover won't work with aftermarket idlers. That thing is there so some dumbass with a tie doesn't lean over the car and hang himself when it gets caught in the blower belt. It's 2lbs of dead weight in my book.

Jon - The goal is consistent 10's...not a 10.9x here and there. 10.70's every pass. That makes for a pretty fun daily driver...except in the winter. I was beating on the car yesterday pretty good and the Nittos just aren't cutting it anymore. I raced what appeared to be a stock LT1 the other day. We only went through 2 gears but I only pulled half a car on him. I was spinning like a ****...all sideways.

Those are good goals to shoot for, you really are an F-Body driver with a Ford sitting in the garage.

Looks sweet, good luck. Unit"s car must hall ***. Are you or did you switch back to a solid axle or is that a myth that the indy rear blows if you run lower than 11.5 ish?

If it burps doeshe Fod manifold have a relief/burst area or does the manifold bolts break? just wondering.

It's definitely not a myth about the IRS grenading. It's not really about ET or mph though. The 60' time tells the tale. I can run an 11.50 on a 1.8 60' and my IRS will be fine. Dump the clutch off the limiter trying to pull a 1.5 60 will pop the rear end in a second. Plenty of guys are running low to mid 11's on a stock IRS. It's all about how you get out of the hole. Wheel hop is an IRS killer too.

Probably just blow the welds off the intake...Fast and Furious style.
Honestly, I'm not sure. I'll find out...
