Are you freaking serious? Look at the picture, how is Arroyo in his way? The base runner has a designated base path, that Arroyo is not in. Running him over would have been a tough play, swatting at him like a woman was a bitch move.

you cant be serious?? i know a few yankee fans around here who even said he swatted at the ball. and even if arroyo was in his way, which he wasnt, then a-rod still slapped the ball, which is illegal.

LOL, if the player has the ball then they are just as entitled to that baseline as the runner is. It's interferance when the player doesn't have the ball. In any light it was a good call by the umpires.
