How'd you do it? Downshift at the wrong time? Did anything else get messed up?

yeah i was at the track last Saturday and the craziest thing happened. . . . i was almost at the end of the track was shifting from 3rd to 4th and i missed 4th and right into 2nd she went out came the clutch. . . . . losts of noise and a lot of cusing from my i found that the car wasnt completely blown up but had a very annoying ticking. Thankfully this was the thing that was messed up. Luckily i bought a set of comp cam pushrods last summer that came in handy. . . .

crappy thing is i still ran a 13.6 but only at 89mph, without the miss shift i think it would have been a low 13 maybe a high 12

Doh! I got you beet. I went to downshift to 3rd on the freeway and hit 1st (damn stock shifter!). That sucked. I got lucky and the car stayed together. The only thing that happened was I broke the clutch pedal return spring and made all kinds of wonderful noises and hopping. I felt like a real *** since I was messing with a GT and had my brother and his buddy in the car. I have improved my skills since then.

Ouch that sucks... If you 'plan' ;-) to do that again, you might want to stay with stockers so you dont break the next piece in the chain lol

How noticable was the damage you guys had? I was an idiot tonight and shifted from 4th to 3rd while racing my bro. Scared the **** out of me, but there is no noticable noise or anything different at all that I can tell, and the car runs great. What are the chances that I didn't hurt anything?
