C6 Z06 vs 02 Z06
#3
I don't have any idea...I came accross the vid on Digital Corvettes and the caption said "TT 02 Z06"...I don't know whether that means twin turbo or something else...I did think it was funny when the guys in the C6 Zo6 comment "he's gotta be spraying"

Full story:
Friend calls me up, and says his "buddy" wants me to race him in his C5 Z06. I asked what mods he had done, and he said he didn't know. We meet up with him that night. The car is SILENT. He pops the hood, we can't find anything that doesn't look stock other than the intake and throttle body. While we're rolling I can't even HEAR his car. So each race, I'd get an early jump.....usually at least a half a car. Then OUT OF NOWHERE he'd just launch down the road.
That's why we kept saying he was spraying, because there was NO turbo or supercharger whine, and no blow off noise. So we couldn't figure out how he'd just start pulling so quickly all of a sudden.
Turns out, we later found out he has a Stage III Lingenfelter Twin Turbo package on it....which costs about $45,000 - $48,000 (that's not for the car, that's JUST for the package). He wouldn't tell us what was in the car until after we had all of these races though.
EDIT: Ah, now I understand the confusion. I just watched the video, and it's NOT the original. Here's the original:

That older Z06 is a great sleeper lol. I'd never guess TT just from looks and sound.
If u listen close u can hear the Cobras belt slipping on his second shift as the rpms start to peak out.
Awesome vid.
