Default Rock + Car =....

Yeah... today ******* sucked. Coming home from Page, AZ and a kick *** time launching off the City's 4th of July fireworks, I was in a line of cars and never had a chance to react when I saw this rock in the road. All I could hope was that it was small enough to clear, but boy... was I ever wrong. What proceeded was the LOUDEST banging, clunking, etc, I've ever heard in my car, followed by smoke EVERYWHERE.

Didn't take anytime for me to know what had just happened... I got off the road and killed the car in a matter of seconds before all the oil drained out, thus managing to not hurt the motor at all. I made one hell of a nice trail of oil in the road and most of the rest drained out into a puddle where I stopped. I feel BAD for the guy who was behind me when this happened... lol From what I could tell by looking under the car, the rock hit right in the middle of the oil pan and punched a hole about 3 inches in diameter in it. ****!

Got on the phone with the insurance company and had them get a tow truck and police officer out to where it happened. The officer was really cool and we BS'd about his new undercover TrailBlazer and it's capabilities, my car, and the fireworks show from the night before. Fortunately it was cloudy so we didn't die from heat stroke while we waited for the tow truck to show up. When it finally did, the driver was cool as hell and knew how to handle lowered cars so he didn't scrape the front end as he pulled it on the truck.

So now, the car sits at the local stealership... before you ******* think, "Man, HE'S a dumbass!", I get wholesale on just about everything there, so it's going to save a fair chunk of change on the repair bill, which will just end up with my insurance company anyways, but just in case... lol

Sooo... on with the pics! Yes, I had my camera, and figured you folks would like to laugh at me, fell sorry for me, or be indifferent. I can't believe I actually thought of that while sitting there by the side of the road... I need help!

Here's the link to all the pics:

And here's the fireworks pics, and pics from The Great Race, where I got to meet and talk to Jack Roush. Very cool guy!!

You need some C4 to blow that rock up.

Sorry to hear that man. Sounds like you did the right thing with it and unfortunately it still turned out bad. Hope it gets fixed up quick for you!

Sorry to hear that. Quick suggestion..while they are in there with the pan off..change your rod bolts to ARP/Katech's. One less thing to worry about later on.
