Re: Turbo Hayabusa----> INSANE!
i might be wrong but i think his speedometer was in kph not mph, notice how the bottom numbers turn to three digits at the 160 mark ( 100 mph = 160 kph).
plus look how fast traffic is moving compared to the speedometer.
after all thats said and done, you'll never catch me even sitting on that bike!
definatly elephant nutz!!

Good point 1dirtyZ that speedo must be in kph, after watching the video again, especially the in traffic scene towards the end, if it was in mph some of those cars were doing 65 to 75 in what was probably a 40 or 45 zone. I was in awe the first couple times I watched it thinking the acceleration was registering in mph. Still a very cool video!

Re: Turbo Hayabusa----> INSANE!
Sorry to disapoint you guys... But those gauges are in MPH , KPH are the small numbers in the middle . The '99 and '00 model Hayabusas came from the factory with 220mph gauges while the '01 and newer models are speed limited and have 180mph gauges. He just added a set of Mototeck 220mph white gauge overlays (like our HPA or MacEwen gauges) but they are reading in MPH. Here's a picture of a set of overlays for the 220mph gauge. Unfortunately I couldn't find a link that gave more detail on the older Mototeck gauges that this guy has, but compare the location of the numbers and you will see.

Re: Turbo Hayabusa----> INSANE!
Can't possibly MPH... at the end he was going maybe 40 mph to 50 mph... and it said he was going 90 mph. He was in traffic and the other cars were definitely not going that fast. This bike really hauls ***, but was not accelerating as fast as the speedo led on.
Great vid of a bad *** bike though.

Re: Turbo Hayabusa----> INSANE!
I saw one of them at HRP. He hit 150 mph in the quarter mile. That's bad a$$ acceleration especially since it wasn't trailored in. He just rolled in off the street and ran somewhere in the 10's (I think).

Re: Turbo Hayabusa----> INSANE!
If its not in MPH thats a slow azz bike. IF its in kph that means he never got much over 120mph. Anybody try to count what gear he was in? 5th gear at 10 grand I think.

Re: Turbo Hayabusa----> INSANE!
um....I m not sure.....but I think 120 would be the first part of third gear......I ride a 99....and yes the factory gauge goes to 220....but I also have another turbo bike and yes that is mph.......Most turbo busa's can run low 9's at 155 or so pretty easy....those are 250 rwhp bikes......the one in the video makes about 370 to the wheel I think......
People always ask where you can go that fast?
Answer: ANY SIDE STREET......
A turbo bike is the closest thing I ever experienced to meeting god and live to tell about it....

Re: Turbo Hayabusa----> INSANE!
FYI.
Brand new Hayabusa's have been known to run the 1/4 in the 9 to low 10 second range with average (not even profesional) riders right off the showroom floor! Thats with the stock 175hp (150 or so to the wheels) now imagine what can be done with 181lbs of boost... Nope, trust me those gauges are in MPH!
Here is a consensus of a few test results on the bottom of this page:
http://www.hyp4r.com/hayabusa/specs_performance.htm
I am working on getting an all black '03 as soon as the shipment gets to my dealer in the next two weeks.

****....that thing is probably faster than the Space Shuttle with 181psi of boost.
Nasa might want to get ahold of that guy.

Yes.
18lbs of boost...
It was a typo in my my post... geez!
Hmmm,
How far do you guys think the head would launch with 181lbs of boost? I'm guessing 15ft.
