I will be swaping to an LS1 and T56 from my 3.8 auto. Any tips on how to make this project a little easier would help. Will post pics of swap when completed.

A friend of mine just completed a swap from 3.8 to cammed and stalled Ls1....search for AHART on the Texas section on camaroz28.com....he did the swap for him real cheap and it looks factory it is so clean...again just page him on that forum

What kind of wheels are those? Car should haul *** once you swap the ls1 into it. Good luck with it.

Last time I checked a Camaro was a domestic car. What's a fart can and a wing doing on that thing? Lose that and the euros, and put in the new motor.

It's all good,Ya'll just a bunch of haters!.Show him the way!
As far as tips for the swap, the best, easiest way to do it is to get a complete package.
Besides the engine/trans,you must also get an LS1 k member(not an LT1),PCM from a six speed car,all wiring harnesses (engine,dash,relays)LS1 specific steering rack,T56 crossmember, drive shaft,T56 torque arm mount,radiator,fans,clutch/brake pedals,Clutch master cylinder & shifter(need hole cut in tunnel)& ls1 gauge cluster.Find a space where you can drop the drive-train out from the bottom. That'll be the easiest way.
Honestly,it'd be a lot less hassle if you put an LS1/4L60E instead. You'll be able to reuse all of the drive train stuff already in place.Your car already has 3.23 gears.5 & 6 speeds come with 3.42's.
Hope this helps......

Well he didn't buy an import. He's trying to work with what he has.If you don't run him off by insulting him, maybe he'll figure it out. He's obviously in to his car,He's probably not to far from 18 & all of his buddies drive Hondas.
I feel for the poor kid.He gets **** from the imports for driving a domestic & he gets **** from domestics for ricing out his car.
Peace.

it's great that you are trying to make your car fast but i seems to me it would cost the same amount of money and be alot less work to just sell your car and buy one with the driveline you want.
not %100 sure on the prices here but i would think just to buy the driveline would be $3000, and if you dont do all the work yourself you will be looking at $4000-$5000 to get it done.
prety sure your car + $4000 would get you a nice z28

I think you're better off selling that and buying an LS1. I'll keep the negative comments to myself. JSears and I are taking the high road on this one.
Good luck on the swap!

I guess one thing can be said about f-body owners, most are aggressive. Try being more assertive, ex. "I dont like that wing" instead of "What the **** were you thinking". Thanks to the people who actually answered the question being asked. I didnt think putting a wing on a car made it rice. My purpose with is car was to create a show car, and i did pretty well. My car is much more eye catching than a stock one. And why are imports so hated on? Yes some of my friends do drive imports, which are faster than many f-bodies. Its kind of cool seeing a 4 banger running a 13seconds. Its all to have fun with the automobile, stop living inside your little box, and thinking your car is better just because is a "Camaro" or "Firebird". Answering the rim question, Yes they are KMC, KMC Units to be specific.
