LS1 0-105 run, LT1 0-105 run!
Hey guys,
Well a few weeks before I sold my 1999 Trans Am I decided to make a video while driving it. I did a 0-105 run and it turned out pretty decent so I figured I would share.
After I sold it and got my 96 Z28 I decided to do the same so I could see a comparison of the two. So here they are, LS1 compared to a similarly modded LT1, both are M6 cars.
Oh and don't make fun of my slow shifting...lol, I know I am not a professional racer
99 LS1 T/A 6speed, Borla, Whisper Air Lid:
99 T/A
96 LT1 Z28, 6 speed, Borla, Moroso CAI, 160* T-stat, 3.73's, Air Foil, TB-Bypass, Tune.
96 z28
I replayed the movies over a few times and watched from the time the cars started moving until the point they hit 105, and they both took the exact same amount of time, I was actually pretty impressed that the Z28 made it to 105 in the same amount of time especially since I was very light on the throttle all through 1st gear to keep traction...Those gears must really help out! I am excited to see what she will run in the 1/4.

At the moment I don't really have any decent pics of it, being I have only had it a few weeks now, and the weather hasn't been nice etc..
The switch was because I needed to get out of debt and was selling my T/A...it just happend that the guy who bought it from me had a 96 Z28 he wanted to trade me plus cash for my car, and I came out with the amount of cash I needed to get out of debt, plus have some left over for savings etc...plus I got a new sweet car. My plans were never to get into another f-body right after the sale, but it worked out good and I am happy I ended up with this car.
Overall the car seems like it should be a mid-high 13 sec. car, comparing it to my T/A. This car is built for road course racing though, so I might get into that this summer and try something new to see how fun it is, being I have heard lots of great things about it.
It is very strong for an LT1, this being the second LT1 I have owned, and it really impresses me.

Oh ya, I had the T/A to the track last summer and I ran consistent 13.7's @ 104-106mph with a horrible 2.3-2.4 60' so that car was def. a low 13 sec car with a good launch and better shifting (I sucked at shifting fast)...plus I swapped the fuel filter shortly after taking it to the track and found it to really help the top end... That's why I think this car is def. a mid to high 13 second car.
