ls1 vs 05 gt stock vs stock

the only mustang that I ever raced that ever impressed me when I was stock was a modded mach 1, stick, it had full exhaust and gears and it put a coulple lenghts on me up to 130.
Then I got my little mods, and from a 20 roll, I get out about a car and he cant catch me.
I then raced a 06 GT with headers, intake, and full exhaust and I beat it by a couple cars. With bolt on's the new edge GT's dont really match up, but with some boost they preform very well.

Its goign to be heavy i think. I saw it in person at the L.A. auto show and with those 20's in the front and 22's in the rear, and then the tires for those rims!!! Its gogin to be heavy!!! and expensive for new tires, plus the chassis as mentioned is similiar in weight of a gto, it seemed wider and longer than the current gto. Unless you up the ponies/torque, i think we might have a problem. Sacrificing looks (wheels, etc) for performance is a deadly trend im seeing. Im fine with a 18/19 combo at that.....

I can tell you my 95 A4 was mostly stock for a couple years (Moroso and Loudmouth) and I had NO problem putting lengths on 2V GT's, and could even run with the newer ones. (3V's)
An older, slower 93ish GU2 A4 LT1 might be a good race against a 99-04 GT, but so would a 96 SS against a 98-00 LS1 A4.
And the LS1 most definitely has the advantage over the 3VGT.
Maybe next time you should buy a car with some ***** :p
I have never EVER seen a Stock 2V GT go faster then a 14.1 here at the IRP in NY, and my LT1 managed a 13.89 @ 99 mph with NO mods at all.
LT1's are certainly nothing special, but their ALOT better then those crappy 2V GT's

WOW I had to come over here to respond to this..
I have had both a 1994 z28 M6 and a 2001 gt M5 and they are a drivers race with a slight top end advantage to the LT-1 car..
In my 2001 gt BONE STOCK full weight with a spare a jack and my 290+ pound fat *** driving on a poorly preped track I went 13.903@99.8 on a 2.13 60 ft and that was my third run with the car. I had crappy tires on the car, with a bit more practice launching and better stock sized rubber I think I could have done a lot better. MANY people have gone to the track on saturdays or sundays when they prep the track better and have gone 13.7's on 1.9X 60's in stock crappy 2v 99+ gt's, sure they are not LS-1's but they can handle there own against a LT-1 car.
My times were posted in my sig at stangnet back when I had the car and it's not like I can go around lying about my times ( not like they are that good, my 60 ft was sad) since I am a SMOD over there, and other stangnet members were at the track.

I dont think it will be as heavy as everyone thinks! I say it will be around 3500-3600 just becouse the prototype with 20in and 22in rims is on it now doesnt mean that they will go into production with those sizes! I hope they watched and would have learned there leason by watching what the gto does with the irs and that kind of weight!! But to the topic at hand an 05 gt will not take a 2001-2002 ls1 im sorry face the facts! If one happens to beat an ls1 well the driver mod wasnt installed properly lol.

Look at my join date I joined over a year ago... In fact I joined this site before you did. I have a friend with a LS-1 and I join back then to back him up on somthing.
