ls1 vs 05 gt stock vs stock

Me in my car when it just had a borla exhuast/lid... i had a horrible launch/reaction time. But im facing a 05 mustang Gt and he had intake//exhuast/tune. i hit a 13.2@108 and he hit i think almost a second slower... the announcer said so, lol. Anyways, not impressed with the new Gt nor the new Cobra (500hp.... but weighs a ton!!!!!)

I think that Mustang needs the driver mod though. A tune on those cars does wonders and with the intake and exhaust, that car shouldn't be too far from mid to low 13's.
To the original poster, if both cars are driven properly and in stock trim, the LS1 is capable of 3+ lengths (just from my experiance-sorry no vids)

A friend went 13.85 @ 102mph in bone stock trim
with about 75 miles on the odometer. Not bad, but
definitely a few cars behind a stock LS1.
The 3v mod motor has some nice potential though for only
a 281cid motor.
I'm not sure of this car's specs. I believe it's got a D1 and
a little nitrous (built motor of course). Just Burcham cracks
off a 9.30 on a shitty 1.63 60'. That's an 8 second car.
Not too shabby.

Should be a driver's race for the most part with the advantage on the LS1.
But for the Mustang's sake I wouldn't be too proud of beating a 98 f-body by fender being that its 9 years old now. haha

The following is from my experience:
LT1 Fbody vs 99up2vGT =drivers race
LS1 Fbody vs 99up2vGT= LS1 wins by alot
LS1 Fbody vs 32vMach1= drivers race/advantage to the fbody
32vmach1 vs 3vGT=drivers race/slight advantage mach1
LS1 Fbody vs 3vGT=drivers race/advantage to the fbody
LS1 Fbody vs 03/04 Cobra= Cobra wins by alot
In my experience (as in actually driving the cars) 05 and up GTs are just as quick as Mach1s. And if an LS1 has a crappy driver the GT or mach can take him. Just my 2 cents.

That's enough to run with stock GT's though. If I recall right,
Patman (moderator) ran a 13.80 @ 102mph in bone
stock trim way back in the day in his LT1.

Thanks you for your post of bullshit and wisdom...
I can tell you my 95 A4 was mostly stock for a couple years (Moroso and Loudmouth) and I had NO problem putting lengths on 2V GT's, and could even run with the newer ones. (3V's)
An older, slower 93ish GU2 A4 LT1 might be a good race against a 99-04 GT, but so would a 96 SS against a 98-00 LS1 A4.
And the LS1 most definitely has the advantage over the 3VGT.
Maybe next time you should buy a car with some ***** :p
I have never EVER seen a Stock 2V GT go faster then a 14.1 here at the IRP in NY, and my LT1 managed a 13.89 @ 99 mph with NO mods at all.
LT1's are certainly nothing special, but their ALOT better then those crappy 2V GT's
