There is a few cops around here on bikes that race A LOT.
It happens a lot, most are just not stupid enough to do it in their patrol car but some are IE this guy.

They are slow LOL. When my car had a CAI only it pulled away from one hard.... not knowing he was behined me (coming up the off ramp) he threw his lights on lol.
He said "you pulled away pretty good and I had the pedal to the floor"
Me "are you serious? I did not even have it floored"
He looked back at his car in discust.
Being pulled over doing near 100mph in a 45 (deserted rd by the way) and getting a verbal warning= luckiest day of my life!

that was here in philly at a local spot a few months back. it was a female cop and she raced a Sti. she was suspended without pay and i think eventually ended up losing her job all together. i guess she didnt realize the cop cars have numbers on them which she has to sign out at the beginning of her shift.... .

Yes the crown vic POLICE INTERCEPTOR is EXTREMELY SLOW trust me it is sooo hard to catch up to people. From 1998 to 2000 they had a pitiful 230hp and from 2001-2003 they went up to 239 and from 2004 to present they have a WOPPING 250HP
However eventhough they are horrible performance cars the CVPI has been proven to be pretty reliable, for the most part. Dont forget they mane reason the CVPI is 80% of all police vehicles....... ITS CHEEP!!!!!! about $22,000
