Default Incar - Powershifting 2005 GTO / 2000 Camaro SS

http://youtube.com/watch?v=Q0xUPKkjFGk

230lb driver, 245 lb passenger... exhaust / intake GTO with ripshift. I love this shifter. Video is of some agressive shifting, nothing over the top. Leaving it on the floor, nabbing the clutch and nailing the next gear. I can hit every gear at 6300rpm and leave it on the floor, and NOT hit the rev limiter when shifting.

I LOVE this shifter.

^ here is a older video of me shifting my 2000 SS camaro with the stock shifter. This video circulated around these boards for a while. I now have a pro 5.0 in it, but I think I like the ripshift in the GTO better than the pro 5.0.

Sorry man but that was slow.

Nice shifting but the shifts in the SS were better.
I remember that SS it sounded sick with dump True duals and doing burnout everywhere.

the shifts in the ss vid were better and more consistent. in the GTO it seemed like u ripped the crap outta second and kinda went easier on 3rd and 4th. the shifts in the camaro were all the same.

If anything, the overall drivetrain of the SS is easier to shift. I had a built tranny, with a spec stg 3, which MIGHT have made a bit of difference. Plus, having the stock shifter in the SS you have to make up for it as much as possible. I have changed the technique for shifting into fourth as you can see from the video, in the goat I now turn my hand all the way over, to prevent EVER missing 4th which I jammed on a few occasions in the camaro.

Bought it about 2.5 weeks ago. Camaro is going to be demoted to drag duty and GTO is the new fun / daily.

does the SS have the hurst option in it or the other shifter? i've driven an fbody with both and find either one pretty easy to slam into gear. the hurst is nicer of course because the shifts are shorter. i would agree though having driven a goat myself that the shifter in it is a little more selective. great job driving both!

I've done it before. Consequently 5th gear syncros were the first to go in my Camaro.

I don't powershift 5th. That's retarded, by that speed and with the RPM difference there is probably no gain what-so-ever.

You shift exactly like I do, which is kind of funny. I always get made fun of for having my hand all over the place. BUT, if you're ripping gears, that really is the best/most accurate way to nail the 2/3/4 shifts.
