Default GTO video with N2O, N/A, Turbo set ups

this is just a little peak at what we've done over the past two years with our 04 M6 GTO.. (and yes it's caged too)

it's long but worth it..

No kidding. Everything else was bone stock on that 100 dry shot only pass?

Also what are your trans specs? Looks like an auto just curious on what stall you're running.

I'm still trying to figure out the direction I want to take with my GTO and depending on what I want to do I either need to buy headers next or hold out if I'm going turbo. The other idea is a heads/stealth cam/stock manifolds/small stall 100 dry shot setup that I'm heavily leaning towards.

on the n20 it was just a home made 100 dry shot and the DR's everything else was stock.. I left ON the spray

as for the trans its the stocker M6 with a spec stage 3 light weight set up..

I think a few things are holding the car up from being total BAD *** ET car
1. it weighs 4300 with me in it
2. it s a 6spd (I'll never change that part its more fun to DRIVE with it
3. it still has the stock suspension and IRS rear

M6 came in the F-bodies and the coupe/FRC C5 vettes.

The C5 Z06 vettes and the GTO's have the M12. The transmission itself has different gearing in it. It would be like taking a car with the M6, and putting a 3.90 rear in it. Except for 4th gear. 4th gear is a 1:1 ratio in both transmissions.

The GTO is actually geared a little lower than the C5 Z06.

3.46 to the Z06's 3.42

Also, under the hood on that metal plate where it has your paint color and other info, it states what tranny the Goat has.

Should say M12.

Actually Tim's 6 speed is a T56. The GTO didn't get the MN12 until 05 when it got the LS2.

First couple of links that popped up on google for 2004 GTO Transmission.

I could very well be wrong though.

Can anyone verify?

This explains it in pretty great detail. Its a short read...maybe 3-5 minutes.

From the GTO Forums

They're stating its an M12.

You are correct it IS a M12 I've just called it a M6 to make it easier, most people know a M6 is a 6spd and a A4 is and auto. I hang around a bunch of Mustang owners I tell them I have a M12 they would ask "why you need 12 gears"

you are also correct about the gearing a few f-body guys have been making the switch to the M12 just for that reason. Some of the turbo GTO owners have been switching the the F-body trans so they can have the longer gearing. When I send min in to Liberty I'm going to make the switch in gearing..

Ratios now are-2.97, 2.07, 1.43, 1.00, .80, .62
New ratios will be-2.66, 1.78, 1.30, 1.00, .74, .50

TSP ported 243 with stock valves and a TSP V2 cam it's not ideal for the turbo but it seems to work just fine I get 27 mpg in everyday driving
and put down upper 600's on 9 psi

with the kooks and a tune I put down 430/400 N/A
