Default BBC in a Mustang Notch...

It's got a 454 out of a slow-kid bus. Stock bottom end, stock oval-port heads. Only mods are an off the shelf cam, an intake, and a small NX plate kit.

BBC's are way cooler. And much cheaper to do anything to than a 460.

BTW, you're on LS1tech(with a 69 camaro in your sig) asking why he chose the Chevy motor over the Ford?

Ford motors are only cool for so long...Then you realize Chevy's are much nicer.

Nasty! I've seen it done a few times. As you said, the BBC is still cheaper to build than a BBF. Same goes for the SBC/SBF, GM is still the cheapest way to go and make power.

All the passes it's made at the track were at street racing events where they don't run the clocks.

I've never heard of anyone not running the clocks at all. I've seen them not display the times and cut the slips in half, giving each half to their respective vehicles.

theres a few shitty local tracks that have those "street racing" nights
They do it to keep the retard street racers, off the roads. They don't display times or hand out slips, so the autistic kids won't be completely embarassed when their car runs 15's, even with a tornado air intake. They think they can still have their "skreet kred", when no one else knows exactly how slow it is.

Better blocks, better heads, better options overall. And for a budget, more power for the money. I am pretty sure that is why he did it.

Trust me, I would do the same thing too.

You can make anything fit if you can fabricate/weld.

The track this was at had their timing system stolen by the owner's bust-out son. So they ran these events(12$ to race whatever you want) to recoup some money and get the track up and running again.

I don't know how you guys do it down there(I know there's hillbillies in your area racing 1/8th mile on those tar and rock roads), but around here street racing is pretty big. 9 and 10 second cars that can hook like they're at the track.
