It's at 5000 feet elevation which will put a hurtin' on any car's performance/numbers.....Dyno #'s can be corrected, but what shows up on those ET boards is not....

Ouch 790hp and 128mph, just ouch.

If you correct for altitude it would trap 136mph.

Power to Weight Ratio: 5.00
60 Foot E.T. : 1.38
1/8 Mile E.T. : 6.28
1/8 Mile Trap Speed : 108.15
1/4 Mile E.T. : 9.96
1/4 Mile Trap Speed : 135

If all conditions were right this is what it should look like according to the calculators. Assuming a weight of 3950lbs.

^ that looks about right. Seems that the elevation is what killed it.

High elevation + bad traction = low mph.

Either way corrected 136mph is not that impressive for the numbers... but hey, it still scoots pretty good.

G's Z06 made 850rwhp and went 11.3 @ 136 at lonestar raceway. Where's your excuse for that? Sometimes it just doesn't hit the pavement on street tires, simple as that.

The DA was actually around 7000feet, that car moves out, it made 640 HERE uncorrected.

Funny how no one realizes how much the elevation messes with our cars,

Watch this video, there is a GTO that nearly misses the wall running against the GT500

Interesting isn't it.

Also, making 700+rwhp on the dyno is one thing. Putting it to the ground
is another. Do people not understand that the transmission is critical
in a situation like this? That guy is probably running the stock 6 speed
with an single disc clutch. Getting a 4,000lb car moving from a dead
stop without a C4, an AODE, a 4R70W, or a seriously built manual
transmission is no joke.

Honestly guys, most of you have 400rwhp cars. It couldn't be any easier
to get down the track in it...even if it's a stick. Piece of cake. Now
add 3 or 400rwhp and try it in a stick car. That will separate
the men from the boys. Trust me...it ain't easy.

Yeah, that elevation kills those cars. However I agree that 640 uncorrected should have that GT500 trapping higher than 126 since that includes the power lost from the elevation.

As for that Z06, isn't it a good thing when people don't make excuses?

It's a better thing when people actually know what they are talking
about before creating threads.

gee...I guess it's easy to get butt-hurt when you own a pig like the Mustang. I don't care who you are and where you are, 790rwhp should trap much higher MPH and lower ET. I ran my 547rwhp 2000 TA at Bandimere Dragway in Denver,Colorado a few years ago and it only lost .2 from ET and the MPH stayed within 1 MPH either direction from what it ran here at Rockingham dragway in NC, and it was a supercharged car, tune wasn't adjusted for altitude, nor was there any kind of modification done. The car was less HP than that GT500 and had drs but still managed a 11.43 @121+ mph up there. I agree if you can't put the HP to the ground, it doesn't do you any good, but the guy in the vid had DRs and a decent looking track.Argue all you want and think I don't know what I'm talking about, fine, thats your own ignorance.

If you don't have DA information from both runs that statement is irrelevant. Equal air temp and moisture content, it is impossible to be within 1 MPH at Rockingham and Bandimere with the same car.

Being as Marston,NC (where Rockingham is located) is a humid area, as is most of NC in warm weather, it's easy to stay within 1-2 mph in the exact car. Crisp, clean air, no matter the altitude, is very beneficial, moreso than air that is 70+% moisture. The temp difference between the runs could also account for the reletive closeness of the MPH. I've seen many professional drag cars run worse, much worse , in the humidity here in the south than in higher elevations with better air. I apologize that I no longer have any of the times slips, as they were sold with the car, along with the car's magazine appearances/articles and other paraphenilia that was in relation the the car's history.
