Awesome races the Viper is mean but ZO6 did a great job with 60-65rwhp Less Also the Viper DIDNT have
a passenger so weight is very close maybe a couple Lbs more for Z.

ZO6 Have LG Headers, Tune 487rwhp
VIPER 08 Bone stock with 1200Miles (somewhere 530-550rwhp)

1ST link is the best race the other races looked like Z jumped or Viper started late

The z06 did pretty good, those new Vipers haul nuts. Looks like the guy in the 'vette was lifting when he was about to get dragged.

MTI has one (Viper) with intake/exhaust that traps 136mph I believe, makes 580+rwhp.

Wow that Viper walked the modded Z, ****. The Z having a passenger makes the race more fair giving the Viper weighs more to begin with and is stock. I bet you the Z fanboys are going to bring out the excuses. But when stock Zs were pounding stock 06 Vipers, the fanboys were in hog heaven. 08 Vipers = faster than Zs. Going to get real interesting when the ZR1s make their ways onto the streets. I guess the Viper guys will do exhaust and intake work to keep up.

That is a dumb statement. I'd rather see both cars with a passenger, or both cars without a passenger. Being lighter is one benefit of the C6Z, that is stupid to think adding a person to equal the weight difference is "fair". It isn't the Corvette's fault that the Viper is overweight.

And it's not the Viper's fault that the Vette was modded or that he had a passenger. It's not too often you get a perfectly "fair" race, especially on the street. You just gotta "run what ya brung".

Enough excuses, the Z06 lost. I am surprised at the results though. I didn't realize the new Viper was THAT fast.

It's one thing to own a Viper (no problem with that at all), it's completely different to swing on the nuts of a car you will never ever ever ever ever own.

Now that I watch them again, I'm not sure if any of those were good races. The first race the z06 could of started out in the wrong gear, looks like the viper got the jump and then the other two races the z06 got the jump. I could really care less if an 08 viper can beat the z06 from who knows what, "roll" racing.

I am not sure if it is a "dumd" statement. I only mean that if you want a fair race (fair meaning drivers race) both cars would have equal power-to-weight ratios so you cancel out weight advantages. Nascar, NHRA and FIA classes have similar rules so I cannot be that foolish. Second, the Z was lightly modded, so the added passenger negates some of that advantage therefore making it a little more fair. That was all I was trying to say, I will communicate that a little better next time.

We aren't racing driver vs. driver here, we're racing car + driver vs. car + driver. This isn't NASCAR. When having more power, less weight is illegal on the street then it isn't fair.


Maybe it would be more fair if the z06 had spray? All's fair in love and street racing.

Watch less NASCAR. No such thing as a "fair" race on the street. How can you expect all vehicles on the street to have equal HP/LB figures just to race them? If we wanted to race engines, we wouldn't need cars period. Slap them on an engine dyno. We prefer to race vehicles here, not worry about ricer math (HP/Liter HP/Lb) etc.. excuses.

These new Viper's are absolutely sick. I was watching Dream Car Garage this morning and they ran one against a C6Z on the track. That thing pulled the Z hard on the straights.

Dodge has really stepped up the SRT motor in regards to power curve. It used to fall flat on its face above 5200 rpms. Now it pulls hard everywhere. That lime green color is awesome too as is the blue like Nineball's and in this vid. Not to mention the newer Vipers sound much better than the Gen II's did. I actually like the way they sound.

If both had a passenger the race will be alot diffrent IMO.
