Default Operation: "Diet". Taking weight off the car (pics).

Good afternoon.

Today I finally decided to start putting the car on a diet. Took out a bunch of **** and cut up much of the carpet in the back seat area.
There were some screws with weird heads that I need to buy the tool for to remove. Other than that, everything is looking good, so far.

Some pics:

Prepare to be violated:

There go the speakers (they were blown anyways).

More carpet cutting:

Rear seats go too. Unfortunately, I didn't have the tool to remove the back seat belts from the floor:

Trash:

Next thing I'll finish up is the rest of the carpet, along with whatever useless junk I see along the way.

With the diet, the car will also get a better tune from EFI Alchemy. My goal is low 11's.

The car will always be street legal and keep all the safety equipment.

If you guys have any ideas on what else to get rid of, I'm all ears.

Thanks

Good luck on the diet. I have two good friends locally who have gutted their cars pretty severely. I tried it with my Mustang, and unless the car is seeing track only duty I'd never do it again.

I don't understand why you'd do that. Just add more power instead of hacking
up your nice car.

The seat belt's aren't allen wrenches, they are Torx bits, I don't remember the size though.

Althought I agree with you guys, it's a decision I've thought about for while.

I love my car, but I'm not a car collector.
It's not a daily driver and it was collecting dust in the garage because gas prices and Florida drivers who might ram into it one day.

It still will be washed once a week and waxed every 2 months.

The car has a purpose and that's what it's gonna do.

Oh yeah, I don't have the money or desire to put an LS1 into a V-6 just to run it, when I can do it with this one.

Where are you located? Hell I'll buy the ALL the parts and pay shipping! I've got three WS6's , all with that same color interior.
Just throw everything in a box and let me know!

your interior is starting to look like mine but mine was already stripped when I got it..I agree with the Cobra man...just upgrade the interior and the engine while your at it. If your going to chop up a car and keep it street legal start with a 3rd gen berlinetta body...they're cheap and already a lot lighter

With the right heads/cam/suspension/tires, you can be running 10's with full weight. Why kill your car. Hell i know a cam only guy running 11.1 with a 150 shot.

The torx bit sizes are 40, 45, and 50. I had to buy a pack with all three of those, but remember only using two. sorry can't remember which two, but at least it narrows it down a little.
