Default CHKNMANWS6--What the Hells Up???

bought ls1 edit cable for $300 from chknmanWS6. he told me it had 3 licences on it with 2 of them used.....

went to program my pcm............it says

pcm licences=2

a popup comes up..........title: No more licences available.......pcm is not licenced, you have no more available licences, go to carputing to buy more.

now does this seem like a bad deal?

It could be an honest mistake. But I would have to say "REFUND" should be in your immediate future.

A LS1edit cable has 4 available spots on it. If two are used there should be two left on that cable. They are not free though. You will have to send the cable back to carputing and pay them to unlock another spot. It's $150 bucks to get each additional license unlocked.

www.carputing.com

When it's all said and done you will still have a real version of LS1edit for a little cheaper than you could buy it new so it's not too bad.

he told me there were three openings. there are only 2.
how can i tell if there is another opening?

not too bad? i would not have paid $300 for a cable with no openings.

All edit cable should have 4 available licenses initially. One will of course be used up by the original owner. That will leave three left. If your cable has 2 licenses on it then it should have two left.

If you want to find out for certain email carputing and they should be able to help you.

i understand that there are 4 that can be unlocked per cable.

he has 2 vins on the cable, he told me it had one more available to program with, meaning i wouldnt have to send the cable back.

OHHHHHHHH, ok I see what you're saying. He said that there was still one unlocked vin available to program with. Wow, that was a misunderstanding.

If that's the case then I would go after the guy for false advertisement and try to get some money back.

Good luck man

You need to get you money back from him. Either he flat out lied, didnt know how it worked, or didnt think it cost any money to add another. Either way it doesnt matter;

300 (you paid) + 200 (to add licence) = 500

500 = Brand new Edit cable and software.

Still though, even at 150 thats 450 bucks for a used Edit.

The seller should have been more clear about it, or offer to pay the full licence fee. That would be even better for the buyer, and keep the sellers karma high.

$150 for each added vin plus $50 handling fee......its on their order form on thier website.

ok here are three of his e-mails...is he
1. lying?
2. didnt know?

the two pcms are mine and my cousins.I know you put three vins/pcms in it so I'd try e-mailing carputing to see what you need to do to get access for the the last pcm/vin license

Ihave no idea I bought had a shop be me that had edit put my car on a dyno and they used my edit program and it I then made small changes with it so I don't really know how to use all its functions.I would e-mail carputing and ask why it load a threed vin in or are you missing a step in the process.

on their oder from it up to three vins I was under the inpression you could put three vins not have to send it back.Heres what I'll do for you sent me your address again and I'll sent you a money order for 50$.I'm sorry I had not idea.Bob

does that mean $50
i cant read his replies......

3 vins? i would think they would tell you it has 4?
smells kinda funny to me..

GET THIS!

We need to know who our customers are, so we can support them, and so we can ship them new software.
We do have a transfer fee. We should have checked into this and found you were not a customer before we started this long conversation. We will need to transfer the license from the original owner to you.

He signed a license agreement stating that he cannot resell LS1-edit. We can support transfers, but charge a $50 fee. We would have to ship you new software, and be prepared to support you, not him.

Dave @ carputing.com

now what the hell is that!
he didnt say a damn thing about this.....now the fee is up to $250

300 from LIAR
plus 250
is 550.......hmm purchase price from carputing.....what a deal

he said he wasnt aware of any of the fee's and didnt know that it would have to be reprogramed

Thats shady, I would settle for nothing less than a full refund. Probaly not going to be easy though since more than likely he already blew the money you sent.
