Exclamation ---- Look out for 98TA6.0 ----

Jason Miller
3355 Claire Ln Apt 610
Jacksonville, FL 32223
US
972-746-8598

On December 19, 2009 I purchased a set of 243 LS6 heads from Jason Miller, AKA 98ta6.0 on here. They were described as having Manley valves, Isky double springs, spring locators, titanium retainers, and tool steel locks. They were said to be in excellent condition.

When I received the cylinder heads on 12-23-09, I proceeded to look them over and noticed that the valve tips were very worn out. I'm not talking a little bit of wear, I'm talking a groove on the step tip. Not good. So I take the cylinder heads apart to clean all the components and install new seals, and do something about these worn out valves.

As it turns out, they aren't even Manley valves, nor even LS6 valves. They are regular stock valves that come in LS2 243s and LS1 241s.

On 12-28-09 I notified Jason and told him about the issues, and asked him what we could do. He replied with 3 ideas to work something out.

-He offered me a set of 2.020 and 1.600 valves that would not fit
-I could send the heads back at my cost and get my $600 back
-He would give me $150 towards a new set of valves and machine work

Option number 1 was no good.

Option number two wasn't any good either really. I already had money tied up in shipping them from Florida to my home in PA, and I already had time and money tied up in disassembling and cleaning the cylinder heads and all the parts from them, and having my local machine shop check out the valves. On top of that, it was the 28th of December and the following weekend I was moving to NC for school. The motor and the car HAD to be done. I bought these cylinder heads in the first place because they were supposed to be in excellent runable condition and I was under the impression I might have to clean them and put new seals on them while they were apart at most.

Option number 3 was my best bet given the circumstances of time and money already tied up in the heads, and the time constraint I was under to get the car done. So I notified him and said I would go with option 3 and take the $150 refund.

At first he said he couldn't give me the refund until the 1st of January when the money would post in his bank account. The 2nd rolls around, no money yet. I contact him and he says he is having problems with his PayPal account, and he will send me the money as soon as it is fixed. I contacted him every couple days and he just kept giving me the run around.

By January 15th I still had no money from him and he was not replying to my PMs although he was online several times a day, and had other items for sale in the LS1Tech classifieds. He was even accepting PayPal for payments! This is when I decided to open a dispute on PayPal.

That got me nowhere. He still will not reply to my PMs on tech and clearly has no intention of giving me the partial refund he promised. I gave him plenty of time up until the 15th to give me a refund. I waited until TODAY... TWO DAYS SHORT OF A MONTH to do anything at all that might make him look bad.

He has a turbo build going on, he is buying and selling parts, he is actively using PayPay, but he can't send me the $150 refund he promised, much less reply to my PMs.

I would recommend that nobody deal with this guy or you may wind up with a story like mine.

Oh and the last thing he said about the cylinder heads and the junk valves was "My car was running fine when I removed them, I regularly took it up to 7400rpm with no issues" I believe that. You can tell by looking at the trashed valves. Anyone that knows even the basics of valvetrain geometry and tip wear would know that they WERE NOT in good runable condition. Not only were they worn out junk, they were not Manley like he said either.

Oh and Jason, if you give me my refund I will not leave you negative feedback on iTrader. I think that is pretty damn generous.

Go to your PayPal account and it will show your transaction with the seller and then you just file the claim on that web site.

this guy doesnt have his facts straight. i have dealt with plenty of people on here. all of which are satisfied and smooth business transactions. you arent satisfied and i did everything i could to fix it but i'm not gonna screw myself just to make you happy. i sold them in perfect working order. i took them off days before i mailed them to ya and looked them over before i sent them. they werent up to your insanely high standards and you want some money back. no way man. i'm glad to hear you finished your build and i wish you best of luck with school but you seriously have to stop posting on my threads. i will have to speak with some mods if you continue. that is harassment and i will not tolerate it.

Would you care to point out which of my facts are not straight?

Just because your car ran does not mean they were in perfect working order. I sent you pictures of the valves and I have saved PMs of you offering me the three different options. I have saved PMs where you say you are sending me the $150!

What did you do to fix the problem? You offered to do things. What did you actually come through with on your word and actually do? NOTHING.

Go ahead and talk to the mods, see who's side they take. I have 5x the trader ratings you do, I have pictures of the valves, I have saved PMs from you. Every single one of them. Good luck!

If they were messed up and you offered to make it right then didn't he has a right to warn other people of short comings and bad business possibilities.

Do these valves look like MANLEY valves to anyone?

Does this worn out, deformed, grooved valve stem tip look runable to anyone here?!

How about the tips working their way out of the valve stems? Does that look like it would last long?

Wait for it... wait for it....

Manley valves

Offers to refund me $150, offers to let me send them back for a full refund (not really any option for me by that point because of my move), and offers me a set of Manley 2.02-160 valves that he already has which will not work in these heads.

Says he is still waiting on PayPal to straighten out his account, which at this point I'm sure was a lie

Yet another one of his excuses. He says this as he is buying and selling parts here on Tech every week

Here is where he goes back on his word in the PayPal dispute, which got me nowhere. Thanks PayPal!

Now there are the FACTS!

You never really stated any reasons other than my I had my facts wrong? I proved the facts right, now what is your reason?

I usually don't reply in this section but were talking about a measly $150.00 bucks here! Those valves are bad. Give the man his money.

You wouldn't run those valves in your motor so why should he? Are you that poor that you can't up 150 bucks like you promised?
