im sure he'll be happy with whatever part(s) you choose. i'm under the impression that most ordered parts are recieved within 1-2 weeks from time of order, but with xmas being around the corner it might be longer. sooner you order them the sooner you get them. but im probally wrong, as i dont 'order' parts from online, etc......i get them locally.

Ya know, you're a pretty cool girl. And obviously a great GF, to be cool with the hobby and all. I met a girl like you once.....and I married her.

If you know what you want to order now, then go ahead and don't wait. You never know when something is going to go on backorder.

Lid + shifter would be great first mods, and affordable without sacrificing quality as said above. I would avoid buying exhaust related items, unless you want to buy expensive stuff. The cheap stuff isn't worth it, IMO.

Damn, your a cool a$$ gf to do that for him! I wish my gf's/ex gf's did that for me..but instead i got about a total of $6,000 in key marks from an ex..

To answer your question though..definitely get him a lid and strut tower brace! Also, later on if you wanted to be really nice just save up and get some ceramic coated Pacesetter Long Tubes!!

Looking at that picture, his car isn’t 100% stock. It’s got a WS6/Ram air hood (could be GM or aftermarket, hard to tell in that pic), but the base 16” chrome wheels (a real WS6 would have high polished 17” wheels).

So either someone put base TA wheels on a WS6, or put a WS6 style hood on a base TA (probably the later). Just wanted to make you aware, incase you weren’t. Also, if the hood has been replaced, then there’s a chance the car has other mods as well. Any chance you might have a pic of the engine bay? Just don’t want to see you buy something that the car might already have. Most people don’t get an aftermarket hood before getting something as basic as a lid.

That is a very good question WS6R6! I really don't know but one of my friends is on here 24.7. I don't know how he does it. No life?

I can get him that for our six months which is the tenth of December and then a lid for christmas? Does that seem good?

His car is Manual... && I know I have heard him talk about short shifters lol.. is that extremely expensive?
They are not too expensive, a shifter and a strut tower brace or a lid will run you about $300 shipped to your door.

The pro 5.0 shifters seem to be really popular:

And there are some strut tower braces on this page (UMI Performance is a good company with good products and good customer service):

Speed Inc. will be hard to beat with their free shipping on orders over a $100 plus they'll price match any other store.

I don't think that worked. The IMG link is the one you want to paste.

Shifter is a great idea. Its one of the best improvements you can make to the driveability of the car for under $200.

The Pro 5.0 that 99345HP linked to is a great shifter. Thats the one I use, and the most widely reccommended one on the forums.

Shifter and lid for sure! The strut tower brace really doesn't serve any purpose and just sits there.

I wish my GF would buy me car stuff... or better yet - "help" me work on the car. A little time together enjoying a hobby is more important than materials, IMO! The only car related item I've ever gotten out of her was a car cleaning kit that someone gave her

Another thing you could do is buy him a pass in to a local track, if there is one.. and go spend a day with him at the race track. It's really cool when you have fans there with you . One day of your time and probably $20 is all it will cost you

Wow first off I want to say good job for being an awesome girlfriend. My girlfriend always gives me a hard time about how she thinks I love my car more than her. She even got a little upset this week when she found out I bought a shift light for it rather than taking her out a couple times.

The Pro 5.0 shifter would be a excellent choice and if you can even get a short stick for it for around $25 that would make it even better. Like everyone has said a lid would be great. I'm asking for a SLP car cover they are around $165. A shift light would be a good idea for him since he has a 6 speed. Raptor Performance makes an awesome piece starting at $105 for the base model and $130 for the launch featured model.

Why not buy him a lid? And get him a 100 dollar gift certificate to one of the sponsors? I think that would be a great idea.

You could get a SLP flowpac. All the parts work together and the total comes to: $337.50
Its a little high so u could just get the lid and an air filter for the car. Either way he'll be happy. Heres a link to the flowpac, just navigate the site for the individual items (lid & air filter). SLP also has short throw shifters, i have one in my car

You could get a lid and a ported throttle body and it would give it some better throttle response. (more power when he steps on the gas)

dont waste your money on a strut tower brace, its not a performance mod as much as something to lean on when your working on the engine and its always in the way when you want to do somthing serious.

A lid is 100-129 depending on which one you get and a ported TB is 141.45 with $69 coming back to you after you send in your core. ( he swaps it out for the one he has and sends his back for a refund)

If he has the stock TB then he would like a ported tb and I have the powder coated red and black ones on sale right now.

A lid and a ported TB are good first power mods and affordable. Both for under $300.

Long tube headers are a good mod as well but they are anywhere from $389 to $989 depending on what you get. Ceramic coated Pacesetters are good way to go if you dont have a lot of money to spend on them. they look nice and sound good and make good power just like any long tube header. when you egt into the more expensive one your paying for stainless steel and a better merge collector but for his car at this time the Pacesetters are fine. I can find you a good deal on them if you need help, I don't sell them.

Huh? You guys ever driven a car without one and then with one? It's not a "go fast in a straight line" part of course...

It is always in the way though I'll give you that.
