Is There A Hoover Vacuum In This Engine Or WTF Is Going On?
hey i was test driving a 96 Z28 that my girlfriend wants to buy and it's only got 65k miles and is owned by the original owner who is in his late 50's.
everything seemeed awesome except that when i started the car it made a really loud noise comparable to a vacuum cleaner for about 5 or 6 seconds.
after that the car drives flawless, no issues, and runs really well.
he wants $5000 for the car but i'm gonna tell him ill only give him $4000 for the car with that noise
but i need to make sure at first what the hell it is and if it's an expensive fix.
anyone know what it could be?

nah that's the weird thing about it.
no engine lights are flashing, and the car runs really well.
i figure it cant be more than $1000 to fix and thats reaching so i'll offer him like 6-700 less than his asking price and cross my fingers.

Easy to remove and it's free. Read this first if you do remove it will throw codes that have to tune out.

Yep, LT1's have an air pump, if you suspect that's it pull the fuse and see if the noise stops. http://shbox.com/1/temp_sensor1.jpg
