Default Exhaust Systems

Out of the SLP Loudmouth1, Loudmouth 2, and the Power Flo. Which is the best sounding and which produces the most power.

just get which one you like the sound of better, most catbacks don't give you that much of a gain, if you do Longtubes with the catback and a ORY then you get that seat of the pants feel. With just a catback you prob won't feel much of a diff.

I would say the GMMG sounds the best and i think they told me you get 9rwhp out of it but it is pricey.

Well i plan on putting in SLP or kooks long tube headers with a y-pipe in also but im just wondering the differences between the cat backs that slp has to offer.

LT and Loud Mouth 1 will be loud as all hell.Magna Flow makes a nice catback @ a good price and sounds nice w/ LT.I think its the sound thats the difference in the SLP catbacks. There should be sound clips on the forum somewhere so you can listen to the differences.

I have a LM2, and I like it. If/when I go longtubes, I think that I will want to go to a true dual system.

I have a 2001 SS true slp car. It has the slp center mount exhaust tips. I want to keep those tips but get a new header and cat back system. The one i have now does sound nice but im looking to do bigger and better things. I will keep looking around.

I would put LT & Off Road Y-pipe first and see how it sounds. My last 02 SS had the stock Z-28 catback w/ SLP LT & Off Road Y-Pipe and sounded pretty good. I don't think it would have made a big diff. w/ a aftermarket catback. The car w/ SLP LT, Off road y-pipe,SLP underdrive pulley,Blackhawk Lid,Hypertech Tuner, SLP Massair Meter w/ Stock Z-28 catback made 333rwhp/354rwtq & went 12.61@110 on ET Streets.

Either of the SLP's loud mouth systems sound and perform great on stock cars. Once you add LT's, they are very loud and raspy. The GMMG's, as mentioned above are nice, as is Corsa (I have on my 02 Z28, which sounds wicked mean). The Magnaflow cat back is hard to beat for the price/performance/sound, but I'm not fond of the tips. In your case, you could just have an exhaust shop make the pipes from the mufflers to the center mount tips. We've done this a few times for customers.

Some people will have a regular ss and put a lid on it and a few other things and say its an slp car. A true slp car has the sticker on the door saying which factory it came from with a SLP labled on the top left of the sticker and labeling the options.

ALL SS"S WENT TO SLP THUS EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM IS A TRUE SLP SS!!!!The lid was only available on 2002 as apart of the 345hp package. If by lid you mean that one that says SLP on it thats aftermarket. There is no such thing as a regular SS and a SLP SS.. Some just optional equipment.. Back to the OP's original post LM and LT's if going to pretty very loud it really starts to sound like *** when you take the cats off..

I have an LS1 from a 2002 Firebird in my Porsche 944, I am using the stock Cats, what mufflers sound like a Corvette?
Also will cut outs before the Cats gain any power? I am using the stock ECU.
