I would not run a 160 stat unluss you have a power adder... blower or turbo. Do a search in the external engine section there are some good threads about the rhyme and reason GM had for the operating temp of the ls1. I run a 160 stat only because I only have a single 12" fan due to the blower head unit placement, also with the hotter air inlet tems from the blower. My car runs at 180 deg when just idling and when its under a load or in boost alot it runs about 200-215 deg. So I'm prety much back to the stock temps.

The stock thermostat is 186* F
I played with my fan temps and it averages 196* F and they don't run much.
Thats quite a bit cooler than stock settings, but even in cold weather you're not going to see lower than 186 with the stock thermostat.
If you set the fan temps to come on at 160 they're just going to run all the time and the engine will never get cooler than 186.

Heres a pic of my settings, I do live in a hot climate, and I set the low fan to stay on longer to keep air moving accross the trans cooler when the car is not moving.
It averages right around 196, usually the high fan doesn't run much.

Hmm.... seems like enlightening info you've given me there, but you have lost me a little.
The main reason I would like to adjust them is because I have FTRA, and they surgest I should adjust the 2nd fan to come on sooner, to keep the car cooler.
Since I live in a cooler climate, what temerature do you think I should adjust the start up temp to?
I should proberly ask Fast Toys directly to get their opinion too.

about 20 F less than the stock setting, but not be so low that the 2nd fan is always on. I may need to experiment a bit.
Stock 2nd fan temp should be 220 F or so.

This is what Fast Toys recommend, so I'll try 200*F swich on, and see how it goes.
How will I know if the fan is on all the time????
