Ive always wanted to get a six speed in my car but everybody was saying if i was to ride in a stalled a4 it would change my mind. i had doubts but i was wrong. i just rode in a ss with a 3000 stall and cam only with 3.42s, it just broke my neck haha forget the m6 trust me if ur thinkin six speed ride in the stalled a4 first before you make a decision.

Same here, t56 for me. Not bashing a stalled A4 because I have been in one. Both will snap your neck, especially powershifting a t56 with a H/C.

I like to shift. I need to shift. I want to shift. How is an A4 going to change my mind?

That's great and all, but now try taking that stalled A4 on a road coarse.

Moot point, because most "fast car" people are all about going in a straight line, really really fast...

Speak for yourself.

I think that the word "most" is going to demand a Poll.

I want to see data, not opinions!

I would take a stalled a4 over a m6 only because they break less stuff and they are more consistent. My last 02 SS was a a4 but no stall and every run was consistent.

It depends on what you are doing.

A4 is a better design in every way, especially for drag racing or daily driving.

If your bombing around just for the hell of it, get an M6.

Um, you can't get 30+mpg with an A4??? Not geared well enough, so throw daily driving out the window

M6 for me.a stall is great for drag racing, but driveability suffers and you cant do anything in the twisties with them.

Huh?
Exactly how many cars on the road can get 30+ mpg anyway? I know your not trying to sit up hear and tell us your manual LS1 is gettin it. I love it when V8 guys start complaining about gas mileage. If your worried about that you bought the wrong car.

Prior to this A4 I have now every performance car I have ever had in the past has been a manual. Manuals can be fun, I can see there advantage on a road course like someone else mentioned. But for flat out strait line speed this stalled A4 ain't no joke. I don't miss the manual at all.

M6 I prefer my M6 so must that i bought the car just after i had LEFT knee surgery(cut shin bone and screwed back together).... I still walk funny, but i love to drive my car home every day.

I would have bought a truck if i wanted a boring drive everyday... A4's and stalls are for the track i prefer road coarse...anyone can drive in a straight line

Actually there was a thread on this forum not too long ago that addressed mpg. There were quite a few manual ls1's getting close, if not over 30mpg highway-myself included.

A4's for drag, M6's for autox. Or if you're like me you could care less about the extra second in the 1/4mile and keep the 6spd. It's your vehicle, it comes down to your goals and mine are having fun in my car.

I agree 100%
Mileage depends on what speed your going, stay at or under 70mph and an M6 will hit 30+ mpg easily.

As far as consistency the A4 is better overall but a seasoned M6 driver can be consistent aswell (I've hot lapped my car on 3 runs and stayed within a 10th). Regardless the fact is a stalled A4's while potentially faster requires very little skill to master, The same can't be said about a Manual.

I had a Stalled A4..got bored with it and I always wanted a M6..so I built it. I like to drive the Car, not just push the Gas..

That and I kept blowing up Transmissions.. I think the T56 will hold out longer..
