this is a full kit from lmperformance.com They want 3800 for it. Is that a good price? Supposed supposed to bring the z28 up to 400 hp. If this is true, what should i do after that to eclipse the 500 hp mark without having to do away with stuff in the kit. I dont want to buy something, that has to come off when i upgrade something else

 

I would go call a vendor and have them put together a list for you for 500hp, tsp, thunder racing, vengeance, just a couple that can point you in the right direction

PLEASE dont.... for 3800 bucks i can put together a kit ALOT nicer than that and will make more power. Where are you located?

Way over priced for what you get.

For 4k, I want very close to 500 horse. . . And it is doable.

4k =

Full exhaust - 1k
F.A.S.T 90/90 - 1k(used)
Cam package - 700 Bucks
Some decent used heads or some machine work on the stockers - 1k
Tune - What ever is left over

 

for starters aftermarket mafs often dont run right. secondly their longtubes hang low, real low. you could get a lot more power for 3800.

 

Does anyone know someone that has their new style header, supposedly it does not hang as low

Yes i have there new headers and they tuck up very nice! The old style suck but the new ones are good. I picked up a good solid .5 in the quarter with these headers and i'm still not tuned yet. Also i have there catts but not highjack the thread. DO NOT BUY THE SLP PACKAGE!! Way to much money and not enough from it. Like the rest of these guys said you can get more from doing other modes for less.

 

I don't get where they are coming up with $3900 out of those items. Waste....

SLP sucks.. Their older headers hang low(Have em on one of our cars), like stated above, their prices are ridiculous, and you dont need some of that crap.. smooth bellow isnt really worth it, the handheld is nice, only if it has a true dyno tune in it though. Canned tunes leave alot on the table.

 

truthfully no wheres the cam and at least an intake buy it in stages i got around 400hp heres whats in it:

373 gears, 3200 stall converter, sub frame connectors, traction bars, 3 inch Magnaflow exhaust, headers, hi performance cam, ported and polished heads new springs and ss hood and box!
all way under that!

 

for that much you can boost your car, cam and head your car. make an 11 second DD no problem. with their kit you'll do high 12s

 

If you want to spend that much money heres a package that will destroy that one for way cheaper too.

Just got my hands on a 01 SS/ WS6 110k mi , still runs strong w/ no issues , car was taking well care of -bone stock, and I was about to buy this package also... if you know a better combo for less or same price ..feel free to fill me in before I waste my money!

 

there are aleast 5 better combos listed in the previous pages just do some reading. I did.
