Default Spark Plug Advice and gaps

I have an 01 SS. I just recently purchased some spark plugs from Advanced Auto parts. On their website, they had part # 41-985 for the ACdelco Iridiums. They guy gave me part # 41-983 platinums. They both are the same price. Should I take them back and get the iridiums? They told me to gap them at .040. The owners manual says .060. Who is right? Will their be a difference in driveability? I replaced the ones in my chicks 04 Jeep Liberty recently. The factory gap is .040 i gapped them to the suggested plug gap of .035. It seems like it lost a little bit of power. Should I take them out and re gap them?

The general concenous on this site is to run NGK TR-55's if you are N/A and TR6's if you spray. I'm not sure on the gap for the TR55's but my TR6's are at .035

generalization... gap as far as possible without having ignition issues

1.) factory was .60
2.) some people complained about idle issues
3.) gm sent out a notice saying to gap to .40
4.) idle issues disappeared, along with "some" horsepower
5.) run what you feel like based on this knowledge, everyone else will tell you different things based on their experience, gm has technically approved both gaps, so theoretically.. anything in-between will work as well
6.) ?????
7.) profit

as for the ac delcos ... go with iridiums if they are exactly the same price, they will last longer.... and we all know how much of a pain it is to replace em... longer = better
