So your saying that every car responds the same to every mod. You don't know **** about fbodys. How many fbodys have you owned? And of those fbodys how many have you done gear swaps on.
I wouldn't call 2300 a shitty stall I could call it a loose stock stall. 2800 or more will match or better the performance of whatever gear swap on a nearly stock fbody 90% of the time. I'll allow that you may get a freak car and get the perfect gear. And if anybody buy a stall that's less than 2800 (without a specific purpose), then they shouldn't be trying to mod there car.

How many gears have I swapped, I'm obviously against it. I have seen gear swaps in addition to mods that should have helped performance and the car ran basically the same. I know that really means nothing. I've also seen cars do stupid **** like as gears and run radials and spin to run a good second slower. The only thing that I base by statements on is that I have continually seen cars with more gear run the same times as cars with stock gear. Some had more mods some had less. Again not solid proof, but I'm sticking to my guns.
But the same could be said to you, you haven't seen any f-body gear swaps where gear alone made more difference than weather factors. Please start a poll in where gear swaps were the only change with solid proof of gain or loss by said gear swap.
