Default Oil Problem?

So, I was changing my oil and I noticed on the cap and the filler neck there was a residue. It is light yellow in color and has the consistency of very soft butter. It wasn't tons, not enough to clog the filler neck, but enough to where I could wipe some off. I cleaned it off. I'm just wondering what this might be. The car doesn't smoke. The rear gets coated in soot because the car is running rich and no cats, but no white smoke, so I don't think coolant or contiminants have gotten into the oil. Any thoughts?

Probably just condensation from short trips, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks NBM. I trust your opinion. It runs fine so no worries. Prolly why it's only at the top and not in the valvetrain.

I just noticed this as well, after the installation of headers. I was worried about oil being cooked by the headers at WOT. But this is my first oil change at about 32 degrees. It looked like a little bit of coking to me. Researching the topic shows pics of it, and it was indeed condensation.

I am going to put oil back in the biatch now.

IMHO +1 maybe a good idea to make longer trips every once in a while to get rid of any condensation, though think the white stuff will not disppear with only that.
Mine had the black stuff(sludge) inside the engine but auto-rx seems to solve this gradually...
