Depends if your just cruisin around town you an keep the traction control on or off. But if your tryin to race someone from a dead stop and you have the traction control off then your gonna eventually cause damage to the rear end. I did not to long ago.

well i know im not gonna race anybody from a dead stop, but when i race people im always doing it from a roll like in 2nd or 3rd. what is safer in that situation for the rear end to leave it on or off? do you leave yours off?

traction control doesnt have anything to do with it. the lifetime of your rear depends on how hard of launches you are taking and the shock the gears have to endure because of them.
races from a dig are hard on the rear end, especially if you've got some sticky tires.
also, be sure to keep some fresh differential fluid in that rear end housing.
leave TCS off if you leave it on, you'll lose the race cause it will stop your car dead. just keep racing from rolls if you are very concerned.

what were his mods? I bet he had a gear change, and he blew it on the 1-2 shift or 2-3 shift... safest thing is to not power shift, or shift really hard. from a dig you dont really have to worry cause you aren't going to dead hook.

his car was a straight stock ws6. i guess some rear ends are made better than others. or some people have better luck than others.

TCS reverse switch. Changes the default setting to always off. $75 bucks and it always stays off, unless you want to turn it on for icy roads or something. Plugs in behind the stock TCS switch and you never have to think about it again.
