Default part throttle hesitation

sometimes at part throttle my car has a hesitation.it seems like fuel or tune related does anyone have a clue what this could be?it has a mail order tune but ive also put a diablo tune in it with the same results.thanks,joe

Hesitation is normally due to a lean condition so yes it is probably with your tune.

could also be throttle position sensor causing the problem. Do you have a way to read data from the computer?

yeah, might be a little slow, but should work.

To check the throtte position sensor turn the key on with the engine not running. Slowly press the throttle down while reading the what the diablo says for throttle position sensor output. If there is a quick jump or dropout then there is a problem in the sensor.

my diablo says im getting knock and its pulling spark when this happens,any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks,joe

maybe you need a fresh tune up...are you running premium gas?

yeah i always run 93,the plugs have about 20k on ngks.do you think they need changed?

knock is caused by many different things. Plugs fouled, carboned up valves and combustion chambers, too high of timing, lean a/f mixture, and probably more that im forgetting at the moment.
