Car sitting?
My T/A sits at home for several weeks at a time without moving while I am at college. Sitting anywhere from 2-5weeks. Then it gets driven for the weekend and back to sitting. A tank of gas could last a few months, but I also try to leave it close to full to prevent condensation. Should I put fuel stabilizer in the tank? any other things I should do for these breaks?

my car is like that too. sometimes it sits for a few weeks, sometimes i drive it every other day. depends on what i feel like. and its been like that since owned. it only has 37k miles on it. idk what the previous owner did but im sure it sat a shitload.

Well the car only has 28xxxmiles on it, so I am sure it has done some sitting sometime before it became mine. I just don't want something to go bad when it sits for such random periods of time. But not long enough to prep it for long term storage.

Ill be back to her for summer in just a few short months. My main concern is the fuel, seeing as I believe I filled it up about a month and a half ago and it still had 3/4 a tank when I left her yesterday. I might be back home again this weekend, if I do I will throw in some Stabil and drive her around to mix it in, and get it in the lines.

I leave my TA sit for a good while too....i come home on weekends from school and start it up every couple weeks and let it run for about 20-25 minutes. I just keep Stabil in it to keep the fuel from getting schlak (sp?) in it and I park my car on rubber mats so that its not sitting right on the concrete to help with the tires from getting flat spots. Ive only got 2200 miles on mine and so far no problems

If cared for properly, a limited use car will not suffer any ill side effects from sitting, at least not any that are worse than what happens when you daily drive it.

I prefer sea foam over stabil. It will treat the fuel and will clean any accumulated varnish/sludge when you drive it. Instead of a trickle charger get a battery maintainer. They stop charging when the battery is fully charged. Better for the battery. They cost about $20-25 at Walmart.

your parents or someone cant drive it? my dad once a week takes it around the block and lets the engine warm up, and every other actually takes it out for 15 or so. this is the most ideal way to keep everything healthy, though maybe a little extreme.
