stall/gear....tune?

stall/gear....tune?
the title explains it all, i was jw if i step from a 3.23 to a 3.73 and have my 2800 stall either re-stalled or just got a new one (want a 3600)...would i need tuning? if so, any idea on pricing for the tune?

jw....when you change gears...why does the car need to go to the tuner? guess what i mean is....what exactly are they changing in the computer? and will i be able to drive it to the tuner? access to a trailer and truck is an hour from my house, big pain? mainly just wondering when they tune for a gear what they change and can i drive there?

To correct for a gear swap this is all that need be done. Just type in the tire height and the new gear ratio and click commit.
Which is why I said you shouldn't let them charge to much for that. For a stall there is about the same amount of work involved, as well.

Well you have to have the stuff to do it with, so there is some overhead. Though, like I said earlier there are plenty of local places to me that only charge a few bucks for minor things like this. So there is definitely no reason to spend more than what you can get a mail order tune from if that is all that you need changed.

only problem is with hp tuners if you dont have it completely unlocked you have to buy the credits to be able to hook it up to your car... and if Im not mistaken thats about 100 (2 credits at 50 a piece.)

well i have a hypertech maxpower, one of the things you can do is correct for a gear change, you enter in your axle ratio....will that be enough or does it still have to go in??
