Swapping cams for increased driveability..
I am posting this in here because i am definitely a newbie, and need all the help i can get! lol.. I have a 2001 camaro z-28. for a while i had kept it stock except for a borla catback, and slp lid. however i recently decided i wanted more power, and added LPP longtube headers, ORY, 3.73 gears, a yank 3600 stall, and a torquer v.2 cam. i LOVE the power the car makes, but i definitely lost quite a bit of driveability. I do not regret the headers, gears, or stall, but i am having second thoughts about the cam and ORY. This is because with the cam on a 112 lsa, it just doesnt run near as smooth, and it takes quite a while to warm up and it just runs rough for every day driving. and the ORY definitely has to go, as the smell of exhaust fumes on long trips is beginning to give me a headache, and making my clothes smell. So my question is what cam should i go with to get back most of the driveability of stock? i was thinking maybe a ZO6 or 224 cam, on like a 114 lsa? or would the torquer v2 be good on a 114 lsa? I love the power of the car, but its my daily driver, so it has to be reliable and convienient. thats the only reasons that i am going to make the changes.

My 224's driveability is very very close to stock. Most people wouldn't be able to tell it's in there. ALthough I attribute that to my 116 lsa.
I'd throw some cats on there. I personally think it gives the exhaust a better tone. Not as loud as an ORY, but deeper more aggressive.

I think most of it prolly in your tune. I freely admit cold start is a bitch but after it is warm it essentially runs like stock with no other issues. I run cats so no fumes.... I am willing to put up with it for the slight inconveinence....
Maybe get your tune looked at....

+1 Definitely get a good tune first before considering ditching the cam. I also have a Tv2 on a 112 and no it doesn't drive quite like stock(lots more power for one thing ) but it's not bad and idles fine hot or cold just with some lope. I have cats though so that may help on the fumes. If you get some bullet cats a decent shop should be able to weld them in.

A liitle off topic, but I was wondering with all those mods, have you
taken it to the track and have ET and speed? I would eventually like to have mods similar to yours.
