Default High flow cats. or cut them out?

I have a 2001 camaro SS convertible and i am wondering what a better option would be to get high flow cats or some kind of off-road pipes and or hack them off completely?

keep the cats on so I don't have to smell your environment killing exhaust. You're not going to gain much by deleting the cats, just leave them alone. What are your mods?

I ended up putting my cats back on, now the new ones are high-flow. But in order to passs emissions they had to be there, this is PA though. Also they made my exhasut ALOT deeper and no rasp or ricer sounds.

Whenever I finally get the money to do my exhaust I will be going with high flow cats. Do you have any exhaust work done?

if you put headers on, get rid of the cats, if not leave them. they dont hinder performance by any noticeable amount.

If you want to increase performance then get rid of that flowmaster muffler and upgrade to something that flows better or get a cutout.

Get high flow cats unless you like rasp. Also, like has been said, get rid of the crapmaster muffler.

Cmon, **** the enviroment...what is one more non-catted car going to do...lol. But for real...either go straight back OR get a off road x pipe with the headers...sounds awesome.

The reason I use my ory, well the main reason is because I feel like if I went with cats it would be like me paying like $200... to loose 2hp. Doesn't make sense to me, if the cats were maybe $20 then fine ill throw them on, but for how much cats are, forget it.

Default Flowmaster muffler

Why is everyone against the flowmaster muffler? I have one on my T/A LS1 and i love it! Its sounds better then anything else i have heard, unless you can afford Borla or SLP then flowmaster is your best bet.

By the way i live in Michigan so we do not have emissions testing and i only get to drive the car for about 6 months out of the year (if i am lucky). I have less than 40k miles on it. it has never seen the snow and been in the rain maybe 10 times.

I do beleive its because it actually restricts flow... or something im not sure.

To the OP:
I wouldnt bother doing anythign with the cats unless you plan on doing ur full exhaust.

Catalytic converters can suck a fat ****. . . .

We have much more realicstic **** to worry about than one more car without cats.

I got a MAC catless Y going to a MagnaFlow, sounds real nice.

I did'nt even get headers, I was going to but I am broke and I just really wanted my car louder. It sounds pretty damn good now with no real rasp even up top.

As far as horse power increase, I never got my car dynoed. But, with the *** dyno it feels to be about 5 horse, maybe. It just feels like it has a better throtle response.
