do a search, this has been asked a couple times before in the racers lounge and external engine I think Those are good numbers but attainable. I do not think that the block would help you at all no matter which you have

There are a couple ways to tell, I think the casting numbers and the finish of the block itself...but it doesn't really make much of a difference. You DO have the LS6 intake manifold, though

Those are very good numbers, but like byoficr said, not entirely out of the ordinary. What were the condidions at the track, temperature/elevation?

on the drivers side back of the block if its an LS6 the #'s will be 12561168. they are also darker in color shade (made in a different plant) 10-15% of the '01's have them & 25% of the '02's...good luck

the other thing. The Gm dealer told me and I noticed that the Ls1 has a G on the 8th digit in the vin. and the Ls6 would have a s on the eigh digit on the vin. I asked the dealer bec on my 02 I couldn't find the # on the eng. They also said that if you call a GM dealer they can run yur vin and they can tell .. Hope its helps.

Just joking. Thats originally were I'm from. I didn't think you valley people even drove fast cars down there.

I get this all the time from my buddies here in houston "Gonzalez get out of that car. Your supposed to be driving a low rider pickup!"

anyways PM or something because I'll be visiting in novemember for thanksgiving. Maybe we can get together or something.

I know how you feel...Florida is the same way. It's freakin' November in still in the mid 80's I hope that "racing season" weather comes in soon.
