Default Firehawk ram air hood scoops, can i somehow mod the inside of them to flowmore air in

I looked on the underside on the my ram air hood and noticed that it looks closed off to the air intake and the only area that looks like it gets air is a half inch high opening that air slides into. Can i cut something to get more air flowing through the hood scoop vents? What would happen if you took off ram air lid exposing the filter? Probably something bad huh? Well let me know if i can mod something, thanks.

Absolutely DO NOT take the lid off exposing the filter...if you do you'll get all kinds of crap coming into the MAF and eventually into the combustion chamber. That = bad news. I wouldn't bother messing with the hood as the ram air system really doesn't do much...plus then you'd be cutting up your hood and the Firehawk hoods aren't cheap. You could do the free ram air mod if you're itching to do something. The instructions can be found at www.installuniversity.com. Have fun.

I just took a dremel and cut the baffles out in the hood.So when you look from the front baffles you can see the inside of the airbox.

no no no ta_ws6 im not goin to take off the air lid, the baffles, thats the word i was trying to find, those things look like they dont allow any air in there, they are more than likely blocking most of it.

Also look into the Blackwing air filter from upfronttechnologies.com This filter is reusable, drop in fit(no gaskets )and the Syntec out flows any other filter medium.Good for 5 rwhp at higher rpms, a must with CAI , FTRA or FRA mods.

get a lid....or if you're really concerned, go for a FIPK, they flow just as well if not slightly better then a lid, plus they look f'in awesome. or get the brian green mod, it seals your airbox to your hood, increases airflow(after that a lid is a GREAT idea). however note if you have a FIPK the BG mod is useless.

I'd watch out for taking out those baffles. I drive my T/A daily, and in the RAIN!
If you were to take out those baffles, the water from a puddle would have a straight shot to your intake. Intake + water = very bad day! They were put there for a reason. Look at it and you'll notice the drain holes. Just my.02, but if you park her in the rain, MOD ON!

I was wondering the same thing, I mean the BG mod requires getting rid of the baffles, so why not? maybe you could get rid of the baffles and get the FIPK, or Volant. I'm considering the Volant because it its like the FIPK, but with a heat shield to keep out the hot air. check it out CLICK HERE just my .02

I drive in pooring rain without baffles with no problems either.A ram air under the car is worst than removing baffles since it can scoop water into the box.
With a Firehawk a BG ram air won't work. The FTRA's and stuff are a waste of money on a WS6 and Firehawk. As I said before you can just cut the baffles out in the Firehawk hood.

The Kit Is Basically The Same As The Free Ram Air But It Has A Long Bent Duct That Goes Out Below The Radiator And Scoops Up Fresh Cool Air This Along With A Lid To Remove The Air Sclincer Is Your Best Option Imo
