Default Oil change question

I got my Camaro a few weeks ago and its time for an oil change. The previous owner used conventional oil for 30,000 miles. Should i use a synthetic blend and ease into fully synthetic or keep using conventional?

Some LS1s burn oil, so you just might be a little low. Or the plug for the oil level sensor on the passenger side of the oil pan might be loose. That happened on my Z; the wires were routed around the tranny cooler lines, put strain on them, pulled out the plug. Cleaned plug, jack it plugs into, rerouted wires, problem gone.

You're welcome. I got my SS w/47k on it, switched to synth, no issues. I like the German Castrol; I use it with the longer truck filter. I go with the K&N HP2006 cause I like how easy the nut on the end makes changing the filter... and it's a good filter. I use 6 full qts with the longer filter.

You should check for leaks to, valve cover gaskets, valley cover gaskets, oil pan gaskets, etc
