Default Weiand vs LS6 intakes on LS1

What's the performance difference between the Weiand/Lingenfelter LS6 style intake and the OEM LS6 intake manifolds?

weiand is a cast metal material while the ls6 is a plastic composite. weiand willl have issues with heatsoak if you run your car hard, but on a more postive note, your able to port match the intake to your intake runners

dyno numbers are almost the same. I love my Weiand and it looks a lot better all polished up than the plastic in my opinion. It wont blow apart either if you have a nitrous backfire like the plastic will either =)

I've got the non polished version... Car does run hotter if it sets in traffic for extended periods of time, although I've never seen the temp guage past 210. If your planning on running nitrous this is a good intake, and as mentioned above it can be ported.

Both perform the same. Heat soak is a killer on the street but it only hurts #'s a little.

Only reason to go with the weiland over an LS6 is if you are running nitrous or boost. Besides that the dyno numbers are just about identical. Check out the search tab this question has been asked and discussed alot around here.
