I love my SLP it sounds perfect Borla looks like someone yanked it off a Lambo, there's nothin muscle about it. Besides, I'm happy with my EXHAUST, it's staying just like it is. If you have any tips relevant to the topic, let's hear em.

SLP-LM is okay for his application (Stock Manifolds & stock internals)
. Throw some headers on there and the SLP LM will sound to raspy. The more mods you do the worse SLP LM's sound. That's why you Usually don't see many H/C people using it.

idk it all depends on the engine really. my car with lts has a slight knock on startup but once its warm there is almost 0 noise, but my car only has 38k miles so that may be part of the reason.

You bought a used sports car. You may have all kinds of small problems from previous owners mods or abuse. You do not sound like a mechanic. So find one that can listen to your "noises" and give a professional opinion.

Bought mine brand new and it is quiet as a mouse.

The LS1 was built with roller rockers standard. If they are not bad, save your money for parts that you need or want. IMHO

Remember you can not fix what ain't broke!

Wouldn't be askin questions like these in the newbie forum if I was... Finally got a chance to take it to my guy (4 hour drive) recently, says there's not a whole lot I can do, the engine's more than healthy. Previous owner made some small mods (exhaust, etc) some of which were amended, some were left on the car, but all is apparently in extremely good condition, so good news!

I'd try changing the oil with a high performance oil and using a good synthetic oil stabilizer such as lucas to try and quiet the valvetrain down. I've done this on several cars I've owned and it has helped a little.

Cool thanks! I put the remainder of a bottle of Lucas in a month or so ago, but not much. Will try using a whole quart next oil change.

When the car comes around the corner, you hear sewing machine first, THEN exhaust. Not so cool...
Check out thunder racing. They have cheatr cams that will work well with your stock manifolds and cats and have stock idle. Perfect for you since you have to keep the stock exhaust. I have not heard anything spectacular about the hotcam so i would look for other options first...

Don't put ANYTHING in your oil. Modern oils have ALL the additives you need already in them.

Some like Z-max can even harm your engine......
