Default Smooth Bellows

I just got my first Camaro, and my first LS1, converted from Mustang 5.0's. Anyway, if your wondering, I love it. I have a question about these smooth bellows I've been seeing between the intake and the mass air meter ( that eliminate the accordion effect ). I've seen people selling them, but in some of the pictures I've seen on this site, it looks like some people are using Fernco's. Can you use Fernco's for this? Thanks for any help.

If your talking about fernco's used in plumbing, then yes you can. As long as you can make it fit. Same material anyway I believe. Hope this helps. I have a smooth bellow on mine, but it was bought and already fitted for my application. Good luck.

Maybe no power increase but the accordian style is ugly. For only $6 bucks to get a Fernco its not a bad change.

I agree it's more of an appearance mod anyway, and it can cause lid fitment issues.

Thanks for all the responses. I figured if I spend a few bucks on a Fernco, and it doesn't work out, I can still use it to throw at the old lady when she pisses me off. J/K, but seriously, I'm doing it mainly for looks, plus my accordion thing is kinda bunched up, I don't see how it could hurt air flow. I'll try it and let ya'll know what happens.

I think the Fernco looks more like **** than the stock stuff.

You can get one of these for around $20 from intakehoses.com and just cut it to fit your needs.

i used 4" "turbo hose" is what the guy at parts store called it... just cut it to fit, took 2 tries though the throttle body part will need to be angle cut since it sits lower.

Yes, you can and like it has been said, all it will do is for looks.

I just borrowed it from a friend that wasn't using it. It's totally the wrong size for the hole but I rigged it up nice.
