I wouldn't pay more than $12k tops for it, and that's on the high end.

There could still be damage that was not reported to an insurance co which would not show up on a carfax.

5 owners in 7 years tells you something too. That's around one owner every year and a half.

Well - I don't think that's what he said........but, either way, you don't need anyone's permission to run a CARFAX on any vehicle.

To the OP - maybe you could take it to a mechanic's shop and look at it up on the hoist. That might give you more peace of mind, or it might keep you from making at 15K mistake. Good luck!

So does anyone else have any input for me on this car. Thoughts?
Just an observation, but - why has the car had 5 owners in 7 years?? That seems pretty high to me - for any vehicle!

I'm the "5th" owner of my car. One before me was a private collector who put 43 miles on it. Original owner was a pontiac exec who put 17k on it in 5 years... Another guy who owned it moved from michigan to ohio and the re-registration counts as an owner I suppose. # of owners means nothing (to me). The cars condition speaks for its self.

Nice purchase man, welcome to the community.

Haha, hey at least I admit my mistake. I could have just deleted my post, but I don't do that.

By that same token, if you read your OWN thread, you could have taken some good advice, saved some more cash (now and in the future), avoided potential problems, among other things.

But that's neither here nor there, you're happy with your car, that's what counts.

That's a good lookin car you recently got there buddy.

I think 14k is a great price. I paid 10k for my 87k mls, pewter T/A and i'm the 3rd owner.. Yeah I know I could have found a waaaay better deal.

Thanks man! I agree the op found a good deal too at 14k on the ss. Its wierd how the car market is right now. If you shop around you can find super low mileage ls1 cars for 12-15k, but 50-80k ls1 cars are still goin for 10+k lol.

Yep, saw lots of that too. I think it just depends on which state you are in, how far you want to travel, and what you want.

Yeah, I have my car up for sale locally right now for 10k and it's got 96k mls... I'm obviously asking to much and I know that, but I'm not really that motivated to sell. If someone decides they will pay that much for it it's theres. My car is paid in full though.

Car Buying 101: just because some asks a certain price for a car, does not mean it is worth that much or that it will sell for that much.

You guys act like because someone is asking $10k for their car, they will get it.

The amount the car was sold for determines it's worth.

Im well aware of car buying 101 lol. And people are getting 10k for higher mileage ls1's! You see it all the time, so it must make them worth that since people are buying them at that price lol.
