If i'm not mistaken, it helps to be on in the rain to keep from spinning out, and helps to be off when doing burnouts

correct me if i'm wrong, fellow newb (or will be as of tomorrow anyway haha)

it's that damn thing that cuts fuel when your rear tires are spinning faster than your front ones.... turn off for drifting and burnouts

its your call to turn it off or not. i used to use it in the rain until it killed my car and when theres no power steering and your trying avoid a wreck you will end up in a bad situation. what traction control does it shuts down your fuel injectors and closes the throttle body to allow you to gain control of the vehicle. try and spin the tires with it on and you will see how annoying it can be. i dont use mine at all anymore. id rather put my rely on myself as a driver rather than a sensor. almost like a radar detector you rely on it so much that when it fails you get a ticket when you rely on yourself to look for cops you have a better chance of not getting ticket. just my .02

You will notice it when it comes on. If you spin your rear tires you will feel the gas pedal kicking back at your foot. It will also cut the gas and work with the brakes if you spin on sllick roads. Mine is kept off all but a couple very slick days per year.

I installed the reverse module. It goes behind the TCS switch and changes the default setting to always off instead of always on. So if I want it on, which is almost never, I hit the button and turn it on. Instead of my car acting like a nanny and always keeping the thing on.

"Traction Control" is really mis-leading. It is not like some active handling thing that helps you carve corners better or in any way helps your car perform. It's to keep an inexperienced driver from wrecking the car, that's about it.

It only seems to kick on once the rear end has started rotating and then its already too late. Then it limits the gas as stated, which lessens driver control even more. If you run your car hard and ever spun the rear end around and lost control you know that completely letting off the gas, the car stop once it's momentum has stopped but you can feather the gas and steering input to better regain control.

Long story short, turn tcs off, go to empty parking lot and deserted country road during dry, wet, snow, etc and drive car hard learning vehicle characteristics, keep tcs off.
