Default lid question

so is my stock slp lid good enough to keep even though im going to start modifying my camaro or should I get a new lid like a cold air or ram air? what would be the better choice to go with and what brand if so and where? thanks and I know its kinda of a dumb question. =P
but different opinions always help. thanks.

If u want to stay witha lid go with the fast toys 98 lid. If u want to go cold air, go with the k&n set up. They both are good

get an slp lid and call it a day... paying more money for fast toys lid that nets 1-2 hp gain over slp is insane....

Exactly!

I will mention, when i had the Sleek Beak hood, there was no rubbing, I have now a WS.9 and it does rub a little on the top. Annoying, but its life.

Yea I think it's not worth the extra money either. I will tell you what though the K&N FIPK sounds really nice. A co-worker of mine had it and you could hear that thing sucking in A LOT of air. I think it's pretty much just a cool factor though

So here's another stupid question, so is my intake stock then on my ss even though I have an SLP hood? So I should upgrade to an SLP intake too? I'm confused. Thanks

If it is SS, the only difference is the hood feeding air into that little slit in the front. If it has the sticker about A/C and engine coolant and the extra air boxes behind the lid it is stock.

All you need is a lid. They seem to be all the same unless you have engine work done to justify the 98, 100+ sizes, get the standard lid, filter (K&N, SLP, Holley, whatever) and the homemade ram air flows some extra air too but will dirty your filter quicker. Check www.installuniversity.com for instructions and more good info.

Thanks. Yep it's stock. And I agree on just a paper filter too. Thanks again.
