Default bottom end question

I want to build my bottom end but dont know what I should look for as far as how much cc on pistons and stuff like that, I am running a d1 soon and want to make around 650 hp, I see alot of good deals on here but dont know if would work out for my setup.... example: there is a guy on here selling some Diamond 3.905 Pistons -2cc valve relief (.945 pin) And CAT H Beam Rods (6.098 945 pin....would this be a good set up for me? sorry for the stupid questions

What heads are you going to run. You want the compression around 9.5:1.

im leaning towards some 317 heads....I have ls6 stage 2 heads now and are milled to 59 cc, i will keep it around 500 hp until I build the bottom end so im not to worried about changing my setup until I have the bottom built, but like I said I dont what Im suppose to look for exactly, I know about the brands but dont know what cc is going to get me where I want to be

I have mahle forged pistons, they are flat tops with a -4cc. 317 heads that are 72cc, and .051 cometic head gaskets and that put me at 9.4:1 compression. So with your heads milled to 59cc I would look in to a new set of heads and keep the strength of a flat top piston. These should be 72cc heads... http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item...d=133&catid=40
Also you probly want to get another cam, one with a 114 + lsa.

would it be a bad Idea to get my block machined to run those pistons and rods? Thanks CONAN for your help, you have helped me in the past and I really appreciate it! as far my heads and cam goes I know there not the perfect set up for forced air but I figured with me having a stock bottom end it might not be such a bad idea for my cam to bleed some boost, what do you think?

So your planing on runing the blower on your engine as it is right now and building a new moter later?

If your going to reuse your block and crank with some forged rods/pistons I would give it the works... New main bearings (line honed) arp main studs. Have the cylinders honed, new cam bearing (installed by a machine shop) have the block decks checked, and have the rotating assembly ballanced.

ok.....the plan is to run the blower with my current setup until I had enough funds to build my block and then I run across this guy here that just might trade these pistons and rods for my NX system so thats why I got these questions now, lol....I wanted to see if I could save some cash with this deal here.....and didnt have a clue if it was a good deal for my current setup, and thats why I am here in the newbie section! lol

Ok got ya. That size piston will require you hone the cylinder to its max. The rods I've never heard of. If it were me I would wait untill the engine is on a stand and some measurements are made before I bought pistons. You can sell your go gas kit, heads, and cam later for some cash to help off set the cost of the new build.
On a side note be very carefull running boost with that compression, Have a good fuel system and a even better tuner.
