Is my problem VATS??
Ok been doing alot of searching, and have wondering if what i have come up with is correct??? Ok when i try to start the car it doesn't turn over, fuel pump comes on along with everything else just no start. And no security light is flashing, from what i have been reading that means my problem isn't VATS related. More the ignition cylinder or a wire correct??

I had the VATS problem and also had a security light. My only thought is your light could be burnt out, did you ever see it light up? I disabled the VATs by cutting the wire under the dash and rigging up some resistors with the same resistance as the key. There is a pretty good right up on this somewhere with photos.
Of course you could have a bad starter . . .

Go check your bypass and make sure it's well connected. Mine acted up and it ended up falling apart in my hands as I was looking at it. You have to make sure all the connections are soldered.

I would check to make sure all your grounds are connected. If it is the vats the car will turn over and start and stall over and over that is what it does when the vats are not bypassed. So check all wiring connections
Good luck!

If you figure it out be sure to shoot me a PM and let me know, i'll be checking the thread to. Im having the exact same problem. I took mine to the local dealer and they had the car for four days and couldnt get it to act up, the minute i stopped to get gas after picking it up it it acted up. I did the VATS bypass (i did it right and all connections are good and tight). Still acted up, chevrolet told me it had some body control module codes in the history and from previous experience with my dads corvette i knew the bcm would act up if the battery was bad so i tested it and sure enough it was at about half the cca's it should have. Replaced it promptly with an optima redtop and it was good for about a month and a half now its started acting up again. Im taking it to a local shop tuesday to have my vats system turned off in the ecu until i can figure out whats wrong with it. We are leaning towards a flat spot in the starter or trouble getting power to the starter solenoid.

The VATS controls in the ECM only disables the Fuel system (this when the car starts and dies shortly afterwards) I never had this problem but I had a guy come out to disable the VATS through the ECM thinking it would work for my Key issue and the car still wouldn't start.

Well im not doing it for a fix, im just turning it off to eliminate a possible source, the more things i can figure out are not the problem the easier it'll be to figure out what is the problem.
